Mine went through a few nights ago. It seems to have fixed a wireless carplay issue that a previous "update" introduced. Wireless carplay would randomly drop and i have to turn off and turn on the wifi on my phone to fix it. Now it does not randomly disconnect, it has upgraded to randomly not connecting at all :ROFLMAO:

OTA updates do not come in through wifi. As of today, only two OTA's have been released where PTS says wifi is required and the reason is that they were designed to fix connectivity issues where the modem was not able to communicate to the server and wifi was the only option. Even then, the "update" was not an actual update, but a config change to an existing file in the TCU. Screenshot below is from a 2023 f150 with a healthy OTA history. Not a single update states wifi is required. This has been debunked many times over by people that know a lot more about this than I do.

Shhhh, voices of reason are typically not real popular in these parts . . .
I now return this channel to the usual whinge-fest . . .

There is a difference between “can” and “must” here
In the world of semantics, you are correct.

A lot of people use FordPass to make changes or updates to their Bronco config. Maybe not software downloads
Forscan, not FordPass. Just want to point that out. FordPass cannot make any changes to the vehicle

Well, after some initial hesitation to install this update, I'm happy to report that Ford Power-Up update 6.3.0 was successfully applied to my Bronco. After I enabled Wifi and then approved the download, the update completed successfully in very short order. I only noticed one change...Ford has added a "Record Feedback" feature tab where you should be able to record voice feedback related to your vehicle and send it directly to Ford, hmmm should be interesting... The "Record Feedback" feature is located under the "Features" menu option. Shout-Out to rugedraw for his assistance.

If the TCU handles the wi-fi radios. I welcome some updates. The disconnect of Wireless Carplay is CLEARLY to due to 2.4Ghz interference. Every time I drive through this spot Carplay completely disconnects. The faster I go through it the better. If traffic is backed up my radio completely shits itself and the best resolution is to power off your phone and wait till your about a mile past that spot. I grabbed my wife's old Pixel to test and the problem persists with Android Auto as well. If Ford would simply let us make that connection over the 5Ghz radio I'm pretty sure the problem would go away. This is reproducible EVERY time. It also happens further up the 405 about two more spots and a few places along I-15 in Escondido.

Before I bought my 23 WT 2Dr, I had a 2012 4Runner with an aftermarket wireless Android Auto head unit. The wireless disconnects at specific spots were brutal. Almost always the same spots, and I thought I'd identified the common factor of their being low-hanging power lines across the road. I've only had it happen once or twice in my Bronco, which has been nice.

Pixel 8 with I think the same issue, is it playing the song but no audio? It does it in mine with Pandora and Amazon, never with any external BT speaker or device. Only fix I've found is bounce it back to audio/FM and play a station then go back to AA.

Edit ... Just checked, my last update was 6/27 but didn't have this issue when it was delivered so it's sync or the phone or the apps or frequency or atmospheric disturbances or aliens ... Who knows!
Pixel 8 Pro here... I have this same issue, happens twice/week. I think it mostly happens when I get a message on my Google Messages (texts) app. Once I'm done responding (or not), I'll notice my music or Audible didn't resume. I'll switch over to the app on the infotainment screen and sure enough, it thinks it's playing.

I used to could fix it by switching to a different audio app, begin playing something, then switching back to the app I was using, but that doesn't work anymore. I have to reboot phone to get it right.

Try what I do .... Go back to sync<audio<FM and let it play a radio station for a sec and then go back to AA.

It gave me a notice on Friday it was scheduled for an update but it hasn't kicked off yet.

OK when I got into my Bronco earlier, it said there was an update that it would try to complete at 1am. IDK, maybe it said it completed it at 1am. I went and checked just now and this was the update it completed...

23-PU1024-6CH-AUD - This update brings a fine-tuning to your sound system reducing unexpected background noise for a more pleasant listening experience.

I wonder if anyone knows what this actually does?

I asked AI what it thought, and here's what it allowed:

Based on the search results and user reports, here's what we know about the 23-PU1024-6CH-AUD update for the Ford SYNC 4 system:
1. Purpose: The update is described as a "fine-tuning" of the sound system, aimed at reducing unexpected background noise for a more pleasant listening experience[2].
2. Mixed results: User experiences with this update have been varied:
- Some users have reported negative impacts on their audio systems. For instance, one F-150 owner mentioned that after the update, their B&O audio system had lower maximum volume, poor audio quality, and reduced bass response[1].
- Other users, such as Mustang Mach-E owners, have not noticed significant differences in their audio experience after the update[2].
3. Potential issues: There are concerns that the update might be incorrectly applied to some vehicles. For example, the F-150 owner noted that the update name includes "6CHAUD" (possibly referring to 6-channel audio), while their system actually has 8 channels[1].
4. Timing: This update appears to have been released around March 2024, according to user reports[2].
5. Specific fixes: While not explicitly stated, some users hope this update might address issues like brief white noise when transitioning between SYNC apps or settings and CarPlay[4].
6. Lack of detailed information: Many users have expressed frustration with the lack of specific information provided by Ford about what exactly the update changes or improves[2].
Given the mixed reports and lack of detailed official information, it's difficult to say precisely what changes this update made to your specific sound system. If you notice any significant changes in your audio experience, positive or negative, it might be worth contacting your Ford dealership for more information or assistance.

That update was a nightmare for the F150s. Months later, and lots of owners are still suffering from reduced volume and bass. Seems to only have affected the ICE trucks somehow. After many months, Ford released an SSM to address this so dealers can apply the newer version of this they released to fix it without having to wait for the OTA. It was (and still is) a mess.

I was just at the dealer to have the hood replaced under warranty due to it separating and an oil change. Also ended up coming home with this update let’s see how it goes.

After reading some posts. I started to imagine people with Windows 7. “I got no problem using it. Why update to Windows 11? Windows update breaks stuff all the time. Microsoft sucks”
