I have my Bronco on my home wifi network for updates, etc. I also have my vehicle’s hotpot turned on with an AT&T “My Vehicle” wifi plan.

Yesterday I noticed that, in addition to my vehicle’s hotspot showing under my iPhone’s “My Networks” section, where known, previously joined networks show up for quick reconnection, an unknown network shows up, too. Again, this is not in the list of all available networks within range, but rather listed as a “known” network.

I am able to confirm that it is 100% related to my Bronco. As soon as I open a door and the vehicle “wakes up,” the strange network pops up. What is extremely weird to me is that my hotspot, which I have uniquely named, shows up in addition to this unknown network, so this can’t be it. Additionally, unlike most other networks which you previously joined and no longer use, the option to “Forget this network” is not available.

Anyone know why the Bronco might be broadcasting this network? Might it be tethered to the truck’s SYNC and/or hotspot? I’m baffled!

P.S. My SYNC shows on my home router as such, but not on my phone. Only my truck’s hotspot shows on the phone (in addition to this weird network which is 100% something to do with the Bronco).

going out on a limb here...do you have some weird anti-theft device or tracker system plugged in somewhere? Or could you?

Is there an AirTag or Tile in the car or nearby?

It’s probably your wireless app projection.
Go into settings > connectivity > wireless app projection.
That or Android Auto / CarPlay - they use both Bluetooth and WiFi too

You solved my problem. That was it! Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!
