I installed the tube doors for the first timeThis morning. They don’t seem to be opening freely but rather have 3 or 4 fixed points of articulation. Is that correct?

Also, for the shims, it seems like all doors are coming in a little low on the latch. Is it ok to shim the bottom only to try and pickup this so it lands center of the latch on the tube door? Otherwise some slight upward pressure is needed for it to latch currently.

Right now on the passenger side I’m at 5 shims. Seems crazy. Anyone else have to use that many?

May take a bunch of shims is what it is. I loosened my door bolts close on latch the tightened that way they would be in the right spot. I did this carefully so like as in make sure nothing is getting to tight or in a bind.

As far as the opening andd closing action. Is yours a free swing? Or does it open to various set points if that makes sense?

All of mine used different number of shims. Once I got them all in though, they open/close effortlessly. They actually sell extra shim kits. I didn't need one of the extra shim kits but I think I only have one top shim left out of all that came with the doors.

So this is what I mean by swing intervals. It’s like 3 set points sort of.

Latch is hitting dead center of the nylon receiver ont he tube door
