Trm won't write in forscan

Hopefully someone can give me some insight here..

I have a 22 BL 2.7 that I added the lumen tow kit to. I've triple checked my wiring and all my forscan settings too..

Issue- trailer brake lights come on at 11.9v when the vehicle is off and locked. Also no 12v at the aux pin on the 7 pin outlet. Little to no voltage showing at the brake controller pin when redarc knob is pressed.

Fuses 42 and 107 were checked. The problems are at the truck, not the trailer. The only thing I can't seem to get to line up is the forscan write on the trm module. 05-01 ends in 9e and won't write to 9f. 07-01 ends in 80 and won't write to 60.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any advice?

I was about to buy a trailer hitch for my 2026 4dr BL with 2.7t. I wanted to watch a few YouTube videos to make sure there were no issues with the install. Buttercup Bronco or whatever her name is mentioned that Ford has the 7pin connection installed under the rear bumper. But you need to go to the dealer because there is a missing module needed to activate the bundle. She got it working but didn’t show how to activate the 7 pin dongle thing. I lost motivation and didn’t look for details. I might have the facts wrong so good luck.

I just installed the same kit in our 22’. You did cut the wires off and install the pigtails supplied correct? The directions are kinda trash with almost no words. I’d make sure your pins are correctly placed in the connectors. I followed the guide on here and didn’t have a problem. The module is installed and all three plugs connected correct? When you start forscan is it finding the trm module? I’d not load a previous configuration let forscan do a new one and find everything.

I did swap the ends. I think I got it sorted after a while. Need to run a couple more tests to verify...

There's 2 other digits that needed to change that i didn't notice. The tutorial image only shows 9f and 60 in red, so I missed that it became 19f and c....60. Apparently the 1 and c keep the write functional, without them out just reverts to 9e and 80.
