treating plastic headlight covers

have had my 2025 OB Squatch for 6 months now and want to treat the covers for the winter

what's best ?

PPF on any light covers... best to do it when new but not too late.

To a gallon of water, add 1 Tbs Dawn dishwashing detergent, 1/4 cup white vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle and wash weekly. That will clean the salt and road grime off, and keep the acrylic plastic clean and clear.

Anything you put on top of the lens will leave behind an adhesive later when it comes off. Then you got a bigger problem. And it will also effect the clarity of your lights while it is on the lens. Think of wrapping a film on the outside of a glass - does the light still come out clear?

I wax em so the dirt and stuff comes off easier - same as the paint. But that’s about all I do

just road dirt.....never been off road, getting ready for a Philly winter

No snow here. However I use Griots 3in1 ceramic spray wax and bugs rinse right off. Few coats at first and then a few more through out the year keeps it nice. I do the entire exterior.

I kind of like this idea. I already have a pit or 2 in the plastic lights and it seems like the film would help with this and is a fairly inexpensive solution. Likely would provide a little peace of mind as I also tow the Bronco behind the RV...

Any thoughts on using Rain-X? I use it on the windshield it works great not sure if its safe for the polycarbonate lens material.

I just did a Rain-x treatment on mine. Hoping it will keep snow and ice from sticking as well as it does rain.
