Curious if anyone else has run into something similar:
I have a TrailRax TRMR rack on my Bronco. I was recently working on the front end of the rack trying to address some rattling issues. When I took the wind deflector off I noticed that the weather stripping on the deflector had scuffed up the clear coat underneath it. I suspect this was due to the front end of the rack shifting side to side due to uneven loading (270 awning on drivers side). The deflector is already mounted as high as possible on the existing slots.
I’ve installed the billet aluminum braces from TrailRax, so I’m hoping the side to side shifting of the rack is addressed. I’m still concerned though that any minor movement of the rack will cause further damage to the paint job.
anyone else in a similar situation and if so what did you do about it? Considering putting some kind of spacer between the wind deflector and the crossbar it attaches to, or extending the mounting holes on the deflector so I can push it further up/back from the body of the Bronco.
