Have a 4 door hard top and I want to take the top off for a few weeks. Can I run with just the front and mid panels on without the rear roof panel? It seems like it would work but I want to ask those with experience. I may just get a bimini also but doesn't help for rainy days.

The front panel attaches to the mid panel. Only on the non existent painted modular top can you run front and rear panels with mid removed AND have everything attached securely.

Thanks. I was talking about just the rear removed and the front and mid on.

Not designed to lock in that way

Saw someone driving with the rear clam shell removed/ front two sections on. Looked kinda ridiculous.

The back of the mid section will be free to bounce around

Could get away with it if you limited your driving to low speed on smooth roads but what fun is that? 😆

A lot of people doing it, 80mph on the Highway apparently without issue.

Not sure about front and mid on and the rear off. But definitely confident in just having the the front on and all the others off. They all attach with that hook you have to mash down. No way a gust is undoing that thing. Im actually doing it tomorrow because I’m to lazy to put my bimini on.

Whatever you think Bud, here's multiple responses about it.

From your "multiple" responses:
1. One guy confirming panels can be installed quickly to prevent water intrusion but no mention of driving that way
2. Two guys stating they have done so with no comment on drivability
3. And another guy doing so but stating drawbacks at highway speeds

Is a far cry from:
A lot of people doing it, 80mph on the Highway apparently without issue.
OP, if you decide to do so, I would not recommend highway speeds unless you fabricate a bracket to secure the rear edge of the mid panel. Can you do so without it, probably, is it a good idea, probably not. Anything else is just terrible advice.

Also, note that Ford washed their hands of all responsibility, so should something bad happen you are on your own:

oh Jesus christ dude. I've seen a hundred posts of people running them like this on the highway, do some research on your own. I pulled up the first post I could find. Do whatever the hell you want. You're worse than the towing weight crybabys on every forum when people post their setup.

Not what you asked…but I’ve done it on my two door on the Highway without issue with rear off, fronts on. For whatever that is worth. Good luck!
