To Wave or not to Wave?

Class of ‘23 so it’s all new to me…

Bronco - hand wave to all, so few as it is…those paying attention double take looks realizing they just saw a Heritage.

Jeep Prerequisite - drivers hand at 11o’clock…V wave to any larger than base or White tops.

Defender - more of these than Broncos so… hand wave to White Steelies

My wife and I point to the other Bronco and say "Bronco."


It's a carryover from when broncos were few and far between and we were still waiting for ours to arrive.

Wife also calls out the "BroncaSport" !
....and can identify the Heritage Editions.

How about hand signals to convey what is wrong with your Bronco?

Wave = wipers not working correctly
Thumb down = shock reservoir fell off

I'll leave the rest for y'all to ponder.

No hands on the wheel = broken tie rod?

I wave, don't care if they do or do not wave back, but that stems from my EB behind the wheel time.

I'm not sure how waving became a jeep thing. I've had an original Bronco for 40years and have always waved at other Bronco owners. Now that I now have a 6g Bronco it was only natural to continue waving......Nobody waves back .

It doesn't make me angry, or upset, at least nothing that years of therapy won't fix. lol

The Wave was a Mini thing back in the '60s and again with the BMW Mini. Makes you wonder if grandparents were wagon fan bois back in the day. That's not a wagon that's a buck board. I"m not waving

I wave to all of them but out here in oil country it's mostly women driving them and they don't see it(go figure). Almost all the guys will wave (we are the minority out here though)

I flash my AUX switched bronco grill letters. Most other bronco owners point back at me as if to say, “you da man”.

To hell with what other people think or do. I wave at everybody, whether they are in a Bronco or not. A little friendliness can go a long way, and the way things seem to be headed now we could use it.

If they are across the road, I flip them off. If they are beside me, I moon them.

My IH Scout it was a thumbs up. Motorcycle a sideways wave. Jeep a fingers up from the steering wheel or a wave. My Bronco.... hmmm will see.... at this point I haven't had many opportunities as passing one is still rare and we haven't had it long.
