Hello all,

I have a 2 door black diamond that I don't drive enough as the Braptor has become my daily driver. The 2 door currently has the old Bilstein Sasquatch take-offs from a 4 door 2.7 and I really like the height it gives me but the ride quality is pretty stiff. Thinking of changing those to the Ford Performance 2" 2 door lift kit (Bilstein 2.65 monotube).
Does anyone have these, and if so how is the ride quality?

While I'm at it I will also upgrade to the sever duty steering kit, any opinions on that?

Lastly I have Icon Billet upper control arms that I've never installed, I will put these in at the same time.

you planning on wheeling the two door?
Just some light trail stuff, its been fine for that up to this point. No rock crawling

with the ford shocks, I wouldnt bother with the UCAs. if you're doing light trails I wouldnt bother with the SD steering rack either, unless you're adding tire mass. I can't tell what you have on there now for tires / wheels, but it does look like you went bigger than stock BD.

I don't know anything about those bilsteins you show above. I swapped the sasq bilsteins out for eibach pro truck 2s and love the ride. much softer.

It has 35s, I've definitely done some decent trails with no issues. My wife would like it to ride a little softer, think she feels they all should ride like my Braptor :) I'll look into the Eibach's that you mentioned. Main thing is I already own the UCA's and I got a a couple grand in Ford Pass points so the cost of all of this would be minimal.

The Icon billet UCA's are pretty beefy compared to OEM or even tubular UCA's. You might need to run wheel spacers depending on existing wheel offset. The tire may contact the UCA at full lock. Something to be mindful of.....i learned AFTER installing mine. If you're at 0mm offset, you'll be fine. With that said, the ford performance coilovers are basically the bilstein 6112's without the height adjustment.

Heres my take after putting on 37s and UCAs- put on new shocks, get it aligned, and see if anything rubs. If you are free and clear, don't introduce new UCAs, as they will (most likely) pull the cams closer. OEM UCAs are good, damn good.

After putting 37s on, I rubbed my sway bar disconnect and frame VERY VERY lightly. After added about 2" lift, that forced the alignment to push the tire OUT just a bit and just enough now there is no more rubbing (granted I am maxed out on the rear cams. If i add new UCAS, it will pull that lower cam in, giving more space foraligment, but causeing even more rubbing issues then before.

Regarding the steering rack, I'd spend your money elsewhere

I can tell you the 6112 billsteins are awesome, but more stiff then factory SAS. Eibachs ive hear are a bit softer

I'm curious how much do the 4 door shocks affect the ride softness/stiffness? Would using the 2 door shocks be a cheaper alternative?

Purposely did the 4 door with the larger engine to make up for my winch and ensure a good height. Think I found a solution today, gonna give it a try
