Yesterday morning we were 3 degrees with a -17 degree wind chill factor one hour north of Dallas. This morning, Zero degrees outside, 2" to 6" more snow tonight.

Our rolling blackouts are now 40 minutes on, 40 minutes off, we are on CoServ utility which seems to be a little better than Oncor. My sister-in-law in Austin had no power yesterday, she tired to get a hotel last night, called six, they were already full.

At work last night- a lady decided to take the backroads to work after a foot of snow. She slid off in a ditch. I got stuck, got myself unstuck after 45 minutes, then got stuck again. I could've made it with a rear locker (I think) The wrecker that was coming for her got stuck also and blew a turbo trying to get out. The farmer I called almost got stuck in his tractor because he got too far down in the ditch we couldn't see at first. All in -14 wind chill.

Takes a hardy kinda person to live in that day in and day out!☃☃☃
It only snows half the year 🤷
I don't know any different, born and raised.

The hard part is 4 hours of daylight in December.

I love watching the show about building Alaska. I am amazed how people can adapt to extreme conditions like that. I have always wanted to visit Alaska! The lack of sunshine would do it for me. Think that would drive me crazy!
