I have had this strange metal tapping sound coming from what I believe is either the passenger side, or right below the transmission somewhere. I believe it could possibly be the heat shield. Anybody else had this kind of noise? IT seems to do it on mild, low speed acceleration. It is definitely noticeable with radio off. I’m attaching a video, you do have to have sound up quite a bit to hear it. It’s driving me nuts

Sorry but can't hear the noise. What motor/tranny combo?

Phone didn’t capture it that well, have to have the volume up quite a bit. It’s 2.3L auto

It’s weird, I got under it yesterday and pushed the silver heat shield around a bit, just to see if I could notice any contact points. This morning I couldn’t not hear the noise on my way to work. Hopefully whatever I did, fixed it.

I can hear it, but it could honestly be damn near anything. Noises are really hard to pinpoint and the Bronco has enough of them that there is no "common rattle" like visors.

I can’t really complain too much, the noises have been minimal. This one (which I’ve hopefully fixed), and the annoying passenger side plastic piece that covers the soft top latch hardware. The clips are not holding the piece tight enough to the bracket, and when the vehicle vibrates, the plastic taps together. I think the only fix for that is to try and replace it.

That piece was rattling on my hardtop, too. I put a piece of foam in it, squished between the plastic and body.

That’s actually not a bad idea, never thought of that. 🤔. You think it just might be a bad batch defect? The drivers side definitely doesn’t have all that play in it, like the passenger one does. I wonder if replacing it would fix it

Every single Ford Flex has a wonky sunglasses holder. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford had an issue with the mold for this part, too. It happens. Thankfully an easy enough part to get to

Agreed, I’ll have to check on the price and give it a try. 👍
