Yup, you read it right:
The stock sound system sounds excellent IF -
1. You play Pandora source material using Apple Car Play and
2. You select the driver side only equalization sound setting

Try this approach BEFORE you knock the sound. It is a hidden gem worthy of a Virtual Easter Egg.

As many have observed, the standard system sounds poor if you do most anything else.
Try 1 & 2 before you upgrade. Lots better places to spend scarce upgrade $$.
You all are welcome ;-).

PS Best of luck to the early reservation holders still awaiting your Pony.
It’s definitely worth the wait no matter your chosen configuration.

"Driver side only equalization sound setting"

Whoa! Keep it in layman's terms for us non-audiophile simpletons.

I think they mean balance it to the driver's side only and probably up front?

Not sure, but that is not how I want to listen to my music. I'll pass.

I think there are 2 settings..for all passengers and for driver. My standard 7 speaker is okay..going to upgrade speakers a bit

I fully agree. I'm very satisfied with the sound system. If one wants audiophile sound quality in a big tire off road vehicle best to rethink it and invest in a sound system for their man cave.

Under my sound settings where you set fade etc there is a mode you can select driver or passengers. Driver mode sounds like dootie

Go into your stock sound settings, look for the opportunity to select “drivers side”. Works well on “both sides” too, but I really like “Driver’s Side“ best cause that’s where I usually sit ;-).

It is an equalization setting. They put a mic where your head is and equalized the sound so the sounds seem to originate between your ears! No kidding. Try it!
Good luck setting it up, it’s amazing.

Must also play Pandora source material using Apple Car Play.
It’s a night and day difference.

It’s a stock setting for the base system as whole, not just the bass.

I clicked on driver using Apple Music..didn’t do it for me though? I thought the separation is much better in the other mode..to each his own.
