Stock 33 inch KO2 feedback please

So, I just went to moab this last weekend as Id mentioned in a previous post and had a great time. I didnt do anything advanced but the few trails we did really showed how the goodyear MT's shine. Now, I was driving back thinking about how I like them but really would rather just use a less intense tread most of the time as I drive mine to work primarily. My wife noticed a guy selling the stock 33 inch KO2's on marketplace WITH the stock badlands rims for 1700 bucks with less than 3K on them. I of course said yeah, I'll take that. They look dandy but wanted any feedback on these seemingly great tires. They are AT's not MT's

Online you'll read everything from the greatest tire ever to complete crap but I wanted first hand experience here if I can get some opinion. I plan on putting the MT's back on whenever I really do go intentional wheeling. Lemme know what your experience is with these.

I just pulled mine off ( 70,000 kilometres, 6/32 remaining ) they are awesome off road at 15 psi, acceptable on the highway as a daily, truly bullet proof construction, uneven wear even rotating - if your airing down on the regular I couldn’t recommend them enough, awesome in the gravel, dirt and rocks, but there are better tires out there for the highway driving if that’s a concern

Most soft roader tires that are excelent on road will perform well offroad in all but the most extreme conditions, plus you have a spare. Can also get them very cheap as take offs because many underestimate capabilities and most just want mosre agressive tread optics.

Love them. Just be careful applying gas in a turn. They break loose easy on wet pavement. 4A really helps.

My long-time favorite all-terrain tire, and one of the reasons why I bought a Badlands non-Sasquatch.

That said, they're kinda old by today's standards. The tire has been on the market for probably 10-15 years at this point, and there are simply newer/better tires on the market. BFG themselves have released the KO3 tire 2 years ago or so, which I assume Ford will eventually switch to as the OEM tire.

I bought a brand new set of badland takeoffs with K02's. Maybe 500 miles. They lasted 1 week. They were louder than I wanted and they certainly introduced a new jiggy over bumps on the road. But what really cause me to pull them off was the first time I drove in the rain. After years of AWD vehicles and then driving with good tires on my Bronco switching to K02's were downright horrible. I had to modify my driving style to prevent them breaking loose. I hated having to be careful with the throttle, especially in turns. Now I have Nitto G3's- easy on the bumps, great in rain and snow but more noise than I would prefer. Can't have it all I guess...

I've got about 25k miles on mine. They are wearing really well so far. I'm still at 12/32 across the board. The only complaint is that they get a bit skittish when water is pooling on the highway (extreme downpour scenarios).

Other than that, I love them. Great looks, great MPG, extremely durable. I've pulled countless bits of nail and debris with zero leaks.

The ko2 set i had were slick in the rain, so I'd pass for that reason alone.

The factory squatch tires have pretty good reviews, except for throwing gravel.
They are NOT mud terrains.
The MT is supposed to mean "max traction" , per Goodyear marketing or product development team.
If you want an even more mild tire, try Michelin LTX's, Firestone Destinations ... a few others out there that are decent as well. Bigger sizes in street tread will be tough to find though.

K02s are crap in wet weather and generally not a great tire by today's standards.

Folks either love or hate the KO2. Me, I like them. I wish I could post the video, but it’s too big. Pic is on Fins & Things in the next low spot after Clifford’s Climb just after a rain. Took my shoes off and waded before driving through. I came from left side of pic and made about 110 degree turn up out and out of the water. Slick rock was wet because a group of SxS went thru just ahead of us. Never spun a wheel. SxS guys at the top of the hill where going “look at that, look at that”. Price you paid was good IMHO. Enjoy them.

FWIW, I run mine at 16# on Moab trails.

Sold a set last week on Craigslist 9000 miles five wheels in perfect condition, 500.00 . I agree with the comments on wet weather traction.

KO2s - by far the most popular off-road and truck tire around where I live.

If I drive into a parking lot, odds are more than half the Jeeps, and probably 1/3 of all the pickup trucks, and more than a few overlander vans and assorted other vehicles (like Subarus) will be running KO2s. I even saw a Porsche Cayenne the other day with them.

You either love them, or hate them. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. But with how popular they are, I'd be hard pressed to really side with the haters and come up with many valid reasons they are a "bad" tire. Sure, they have some pros and cons, but everything does, and just by how many I see on the road, and repeat customers they get, I'd say for most people the pros outweigh the cons.

I’ve never owned a set or driven with them so I don't have any skin in this game. Just commenting on what I have observed.
