I have the same thing going on and made a similar post. It was suggested that the alignment may be off, toe in. I am getting that done tomorrow. Will circle back with results.

Quick update. Alignment did NOT fix the slushiness while returning to center in turns. I checked power steering fluid and it is below the MIN line, so I will add fluid tonight. I will put it up on my lift (yes, I'm spoiled) this weekend and see if I can find a leak. Gotta be honest, I put my Jeep Grand Cherokee through the same terrain with no issues, so if I got a leak from mild off roading, I will be a bit disappointed.
Did you check your blinker fluid while you were checking your power steering fluid?

Added power steering fluid back up to the MAX line and it still grabs when exiting right hand turns. I will take it the dealer and waste my time see what they can find. I hope others with the Hoss 3.0 rack aren't experiencing the same issue.
I don’t know what fluid you added, but I can assure you that it wasn’t for the power steering lol

having this same problem w my 22 obx sas. Did you ever get it fixed?
I am now seeing this exact same issue in my '22 Wildtrak. Left turns only. Requires light to moderate force to bring the wheel back to center. Doesn't occur in right-hand turns. Most noticeable on mountain highways. Did anyone ever achieve a resolution on this issue? It was pretty bad on our way up to a ski trip this week, and I'm a little concerned about the 200+ miles home.

Ford saw some power steering fault codes that were suspect and replaced my steering gearbox under warranty. Haven’t seen the issue since.

Someone recently had a faulty/partially seized joint on their lower steering shaft on a different thread. That’s probably one of the first and easiest things I’d inspect.

As the OP, I posted about the issue, had it happen a handful of times, then haven't had it again in two years. Because of that, I can't exactly take it in to the dealer and say "this issue I'm not experiencing... can you look at it?".

I'm having this exact issue with my 2021 Big Bend 4 door. I took it to the dealer but they said they couldn't replicate the issue and that there was no failure codes on any of the vehicles internal systems. It only happens when I'm on the highway after about 20 minutes of moderate driving. The vehicle is fine for the first 15 minutes of highway driving, then after a while the steering begins to tighten up and feel inconsistent. But at low speeds the steering is completely normal. I can't understand what would be wrong, the dealership told me that a power steering replacement could be upwards of 6k which sounds completely made up. And for all we know that might not even be the issue. They are telling me it might be because I'm running 33 x 12.5 tires on 17" rims. But every form I've read says that it shouldn't have much effect on the stock big bend steering rack. I've seen people fit 35s on the base vehicle no isssues. Ford says I should put the stock wheels on the vehicle and see if the issue persist but I'm not confident it's the wheels. When I first purchased the vehicle 4 months ago it didn't do this with the bigger tires that it came with. Has anyone resolved this issue? I've seen discussions on the Broncbuster replacement shims for the rack helping similar stories but I'm completely unsure and confused.

Same problem. Started after a light off-road session. Scanned with Forscan - there was an error code in the PSCM (power steering control module) but seemed unrelated (ABS something) . I cleared the codes. and drove for a bit. Issue persists, no new codes. Disabled the pull drift feature thinking that might be messing things up. No difference. Might be the steering screw has rubbed against the bushing and generated some plastic and/or aluminum shards or slivers onto the screw. Feels like its binding. . Very inconsistent. Will disconnect the passenger side of the steering, remove one of the steering rack mounting bolts and drop the passenger side down and remove the boot to see if I can see forbidden metal shards on the screw.

Is your lane nanny turned on?
First thing I thought of. It was on by default when I rolled off the lot with my new HE and I had a wtf moment on the way home. It’s been off ever since.

I plan on doing this same thing very soon. It's super frustrating because every time I'm on the highway I'm worried that I'll suddenly lose my steering assist and have to strong arm it. My next step is to open it up and look for bushing wear or damage. I had the dealership scan my car and they couldn't find a single error code. I'm also super frustrated because Ford said unless I put the stock tires back on my vehicle there is no way for them to determine what is causing the issue otherwise they will blame it on my 315s. All sounds like BS.

They sell you on the concept that it's an offroad vehicle that can do pretty decent rock crawling and trail stuff. Mines a Mall princesses and has never been off road once. And still, my steering has issues. How am I ever supposed to trust it off road once I do get the issue figured out ?

My biggest worry is that I'll have the entire rack replaced for thousands and the issue won't have anything to do with the rack and actually end up being some internal software thing the whole time.

I'll try the crappy BroncBuster bushings for a outrageous $350 and see if that does anything. But honestly @Ford should make it a recall by now if you need to buy an aftermarket bushing from a 3rd party just to ensure your steering rack won't kill itself driving around the Mall...

OR, @Ford should just sell an aftermarket high performance power steering rack for the base models that doesn't take a software development team to install, or that is limited only to SAS hoss 3.0 models....
