Looking at SRQ’s website for the 4dr where would we mount the amp? It’s been a while since I had the panel off and I can’t remember if the amp is mounted where it would not interfere with the box on the 4dr. Also I cannot find a single review on the setup and sound. Has anyone took the leap on the SRQ box?

As I am reading posts and searching sub options myself, I am wondering why ya'll would be waiting on a product from JL Audio versus something already available like the box from SRQ customs...Is it cost, quality, construction, prior experience with JL products? I have zero affiliation with SRQ, in fact I had never heard of them until now. It looks like a good box at a decent price. I was quoted around 1k for a custom box with a top of the line woofer (Earmark Car Audio in Plano, TX)

Fiberglass over MDF for one, moisture and MDF are a really bad combo. And a 10 vs an 8 would be my reasoning.

Trusted name brand, highly engineered product, low protrusion with high excursion, high response, 10” vs 8” woofer (more air movement equals more bass), factory appearance, optimized air space for the woofer. Price will certainly be more than the alternatives, but a known quantity sells.

SRQ would be my choice if not JL. I’d order it blank and cut my own hole for a 10TW1.

The fiberglass would allow thinner walls and more enclosure space. Another forum member made a box similar to the SRQ box. The irregular shape of the space isn't great for a wooden enclosure ---it's pretty wasteful. As far as moisture goes, both the Stinger and MTI tailgate boxes are MDF, but are well coated to prevent moisture penetration.

When my WT is built (and I get around to the sub upgrade) I'll see what can be done with the factory enclosure vs. adding a tailgate box.

Man. This is just great news all around. I’m curious how they will handle all the different options / trims.

Translation: I teally hope it will work with a 2 door LUX. It would be nice if they figured out a repeatable amp and dsp replacement.

I asked for an update and confirmation of fitment dor a 2 door lux. Here’s the response I got from JL. Nothing too concrete, but at least they’re working on it, even if its glacier slow.

Hopefully that means they created a new bracket, and didn’t just say, “Welp that aint gonna work. We’ll get to it 2024. Or not. “

Maybe this will be for both 2 and 4 door and both brackets will be provided so they can have just one Bronco product SKU. Is that the impression that you have as well? I agree, any progress is good.

Sounds like the 4 door is closer to release, so unless they hold it JL will have 2 skus anyway. A 4 door and a 2 door, or an early 4 door only and the later 2/4 door.

JL is still pretty small in the grand scheme of things. I imagine it will come down to just whether they feel like stocking the two brackets.
