JL Audio stealthbox?

Hello. I’m a new owner and looking to upgrade my B&O stereo. I just purchased the Mobridge amp, Hertz cx100’s for dash and rear and Hertz MP165’s for the mids. I’m now trying to figure out the sub. I would like to keep it stealth and lose no cargo room. How is the JL stealthbox?

It depends on the type of music you listen to. I had the stealth box, and it's very musical. Ultimately, I moved to a different sub as the JL didn't cover all my needs.
If stealth is your primary goal, it's the best game in town.

Stinger 12 inch Audio Control... I'm very happy with the base paired with Audison 5/600 amp. Running Audison apx 4 2 pairs, Audison apx 6.5. one would think too much tweet, but not the case after tune.

Correct, but I wouldn't say too little output.

The output of the 10TW1 is appropriate for that particular driver, but anytime you're using a single subwoofer, it will definitely be the weak point of the system, especially without DSP software to level-match the speakers.

Most folks will install speakers, set the gain, call it good, and find that their system is unbalanced. As you understood, the front stage output exceeds the output of the subwoofer. Instead of reducing output trim on the satellites, they dive down the rabbits hole of looking for subwoofers to match the output of the front stage, which again, is somewhat difficult to do with a single subwoofer.

Can you clarify what music you listen to and what the issues were? I’m also about to pull trigger to buy stealthbox and amp as I’ve warrantied my BO sub 3 times now and I’m just done with the rattling

We listen to a very wide variety of music from country, rock, electronica, jazz and classical. Some we like loud and some we want to sound intimate. The JL sub does the upper part of sub bass well, but doesn’t go deep and has limited output. So an acoustic bass sounds great but the bottom 2 or 3 octaves for other types of music is non-existent. Compared to the systems in our other cars it was very noticeable.

The factory box works just fine, I just plugged the port, as my sub was looking for something larger/ported or smaller non-ported.

What did you change to from the JL stealth box? Is it a custom box that’s stored in same area?
