I used one of the factory threaded holes
I tried that and it didnt hold no matter how much I cranked it down and used blue loctite but I also off road a lot.

I haven't had mine come loose. I mostly off-road which is why I got the Starlink to have for remote places.

I tried everything that was cheap and DIY out there and nothing worked. No velcro worked either. I don't offroad but even daily driving on normal roadways and highways, the mounts wouldn't hold. A combination of mount plus velcro didn't hold either. Decided to opt for the Mohave mount since it was one of the better set up that wasn't stupid expensive.

The gen 1 mount I felt was too close to the rear roof and chances of it knocking on the roof and causing NVH. I then saw they had a gen 2 mount so I reached out to them to see if I could purchase the gen 2 or swap the older one for the newer one since I literally just bought it. They gave me discount on the gen 2 so I ordered it. Gripes about my specific gen 2 is that it looks like a blem/defective unit they tossed to me in terms of cosmetics. Hopefully it is just cosmetic and doesn't snap later on...

Haven't had a chance to put the new one on yet.

Mountain2Metal topshelf. I found the bracket with very strong magnets on amazon. In the Bronco we power with a Jackery 1000 V2 100w USBC port. In the past Ive used the 120v outlet but not necessary now I have the USBC cable. When we use our truck and camper I put the Starlink on the hood and use 120v AC power from the camper. That’s when we are stationary not driving.
