Squeaking brakes? (FORD ignoring this problem!!)

I'm at about 5000 miles on my BD. About 1000 miles ago I noticed some squeaking but thought it was purely because we had a couple rainy, foggy and otherwise damp weather for a few days straight.

Probably just coincidental with the weather but in any case, after that it has not gone away. Brakes are driving me completely bananas with the squeaking.


Anyone else hearing this? Pretty annoying, as combined with all the other squeaks and rattles in the cabin, I'm getting pretty irritated by all these sounds.



Surprisingly, I searched this forum and didn't find a single thread with keyword "squeak" in the thread title...

My wife's OBX is has squeaky brakes also. Started at about 1800 miles I believe. She hasn't scheduled an appointment with the dealership yet but the squeak is definitely on her list of things to have checked when she does.

I wouldn't think that'd be normal.

Mine too.
But usually only the first time or two I use them after it sits and cools down.
Nothing constant or heard again until parked for a while.

Mine just started this as well at 10k miles. Annoying as heck and embarrassing to be honest. Mines at the dealer for other things so I asked them to check it out. When I get it back I’ll try to remember to post if they do or say anything. I’m betting it’ll be the ol we couldn’t duplicate the sound line

Mine always seems to squeak when I'm approaching a stop sign and someone is standing at the corner or slowing down in a parking lot to let a pedestrian by... never seems to happen when no one is around to hear the tree fall in the woods.

So yeah, a bit embarrassing as they look at the Bronco like "oh hey, look at that!" and then *squeeeeak*

Mine have been having the same issue. Currently sitting at 3k miles. But have been squeaking since about 800 miles. Took to dealer and said there is nothing wrong with them . Squeak is so loud tells my dog Im home before I do.

Anyone get any resolution here from their dealerships?

I have not been in for service just yet but my local dealer has "never heard of this". Seems like a number of people are experiencing this.

Mine has gotten absolutely ridiculous now. Every single time I use the brakes, it squeaks very loudly!!! Beyond the annoyance it is a total embarrassment on a brand new vehicle. I'm at 6000 miles now.


Curious if anyone's gotten any real answer or response to this problem other than Ford "assisting" with getting folks service appointments via the messages in this thread.

Nothing they didn’t even look at them . Been waiting two weeks now for a call back for to discuss brakes and the leaking seal on the transfer case that didn’t get looked at either. The service write me I believe left and the new guy doesn’t communicate for sh**.

I didnt have any noise from mine but happened to notice the front driver side rotor had uneven wear like only half the pad was making contact. My dealer replaced pads and rotors. Now I get a squeak when turning right without applying the breaks. Its going back in Monday to get looked at.

Mine started squeaking at 1800 miles. I hate it. My Escape did the same thing and I was thrilled that with a new vehicle wouldn’t have to deal with squeaky brakes. Guess it’ll be a trip to the dealer, weeks to get an appointment.

When I first got the Bronco, I loved that it turned heads at stop lights because it was an unusual sight.

Now, I turn heads because of these embarrassing brakes. It's awful.


Even multiple neighbors have started to ask... "is that your brakes squeaking??"
