I am a complete novice when it comes to upgrading/replacing speakers, and I am by no means an audiophile, but I know the stock speakers sound like crap!
After reading a ton of threads and watching a lot of YouTube, here are the pieces that I have ordered and my plan:

-Upgrading the rear 4" speakers to 6". I have orderd the Mabett Rear Speaker pods.
-Kicker KSC6704 6 3/4". I ordered two sets of these, one set for the rear speaker upgrade and one set for the kick panels.
-Kicker 47KSC404 4" to replace the two speakers in the dash.
-All appropriate wiring for plug and play

Will just replacing my speakers with the above mentioned products give me a better sound? I would like to keep this upgrade as simple as possible. I would like to avoid a new amp, and I would rather not go into Forscan and start reprograming everything. However, being a novice, I wanted to seek out the advice of more experienced people.

I had to downgrade my WIldtrak from LUX to High in order to assure delivery before MY2024 and keep my price protection. I received the 6 speaker + Sub and had planned to switch out the speakers 1st, then upgrade to the Kicker AMP if I didn't like the sound.
After reading many of the blogs, I decided on the following and am very pleased with the sound. No reason for me to add an AMP:

Front Speakers - Kicker 46CSC674
Kick Panel - Memphis Audio MJP6 (Better Bass/deeper mid-Bass)
Rear Pods - Focal ACX 100’s (great rear-fill for 4" pods)
Add 300Hz Bass blockers to the front 4" Kicker speakers
Filled the every cavity with Kilmat sound deadening sheets

I Kept the factory Sub in place as the Memphis MJP6 + factory Sub provide enough bass for my taste. Cost to me approximately $450 and very happy with the sound!

Keep in mind the dash and kick panel speakers are on the same channel- you can’t do any sort of optimization without an amp. I did a Musway 8 channel mounted under the seat- one for each of the 6 speakers in the cabin and mixed the two passive channels together to feed the sub amp I installed in the back. Kicker speakers all around. Sounds great, not a ton of dough, but definitely an involved install.

Hi Brian,

We offer a great solution for your rear pods that are plug and play. We offer a discount to 6G members, DM me for a discount code if you want to go this direction.

The fusion amp is strictly for the sub, correct? Is all of the wiring and power already there in the dummy set up? Just plug and play?
Hey guys, a couple questions.

1. Did anyone verify if the fusion amp is plug & play on 23/24 broncos? I watched that dude's video and it doesn't answer this question as he had a '21 bronco w/o a sub.
2. I bought the 6.5" kickers from SSV and was gonna try to go with those, the fusion amp for the sub (hoping this is plug n play) & a kicker key 200.4 amp alongside all the factory speakers and see how it sounds. What do we think about this plan?

Yes. It’s about as plug and play as it gets. Literally the same plug

Installing a coaxial speaker into the kick panels is pointless. I'm almost certain that the signal going to that location is specific to a woofer. Even under amplification, coaxial speakers are inaudible.

That said, without an amplifier, you'd be amazed with what a tweeter / woofer component set can do for the front sound stage.

If you insist on a coaxial in the dash, the CS series would have been a better choice because they were designed to play much louder with less power. Without an amplifier, the factory system does not produce enough power to drive a 4" KS series speaker effectively enough to accurately reproduce what you're listening to. In short, you will be underwhelmed.

Forscan: the EQ needs to be disabled.

Balance: the front stage needs to wired in series.
Hi, thanks for your input. I am leaning towards a woofer/tweeter front stage, rather than this strange dual coax combo so many people seem to be doing. Rather than buying a set of components for the front stage, do you think I could just swap the dash speakers for tweeters that have in-line crossovers? Focal TWU1.5 come with some nice mounting options. This would save some time and effort, especially since many people seem to think the kick panel speakers are alright.

Also, would you suggest rewiring the front stage with this combo? Or is that only for the dual coax people?

You have the right idea, but that particular tweeter plays from 4000Hz and up, so it would need to be paired with a midrange driver. For context, in an active system, a subwoofer would play up to 80Hz, midbass from 80-400Hz, midrange from 400-4000Hz, and tweeters from 4000 to 20000kHz and up.

Aside from a 2-way component set, the next best thing would be a 4" coaxial with high sensitivity like a Hertz Dieci or Polk DB 402 to use with the OEM woofers. I would tip my hat towards Hertz.

Glad I asked! Very good point about the tweeters having such a high crossover, I didn't catch that. Even if I picked another pair of tweets it's hard to say how high those factory kick panel speakers can be crossed. Plus would need to go active. So probably best as you said from the start to just pick a decent set of components with higher sensitivity.

Thanks for the advice!

I was one of those people that ran the weird 2 way speakers up in the dash. Just in my opinion the kick panels are really best for midbass as the location really sucks and muddled up the mid range frequency. So going with midbass in kick panels handling the 80-400 range and have something for midrange and higher frequency in the dash just sounded better to me. I’m now switching out to a 3 way (focal es165 KX3E) so I can have more control over the tune and hopefully sound the best it possibly can.

Totally agreed the kick panel doesn't seem ideal for handling midrange. Did you run some sort of crossover to seperate the kicks from your dash speakers? Can I also ask what your current speakers are? Those Focals would be unreal.

I was running audio frog gs 60s in the panel and gs42 in the dash. I have a musway 6 channel amp/DSP so I’m running active cross overs and the speakers are individually wired instead of ran in series on the same channel like oem is

Audiofrog speakers plus external amp/DSP stil wasn't enough. Makes me think running 3 way from the start is probably the way to go here. Have you decided how you will mount your mid and tweeter?

It was probably enough for most people, but I like having the best of everything and I I actually enjoy doing all this. I tried to 3d print my own adapters to fit the midrange and tweeter in the dash but failed so I am going with mti dash plates that they make custom to your speakers. I have there tailgate sub mount and it’s a really well done product. I have heard from some people that the frak tweeters aren’t very good off axis so I might need to do something with pods for them but we will see.

Fair enough. No reason that upgrading and testing new things can't be a fun process! It does seem like there is some pretty solid aftermarket support for Broncos in the audio department. Keep us updated as you keep going, especially of you rig up something unique.

I wish someone made some a pillar speaker adapters. It would very challenging given the vents right there but that would be a sweet addition
