I bought the kit and installed only to find out that I have a five-pin rear camera connector which apparantly is a lot larger. I called Turn Offroad and they said that they were working on a new prototype for the correct fit. Well that was a month ago and as of now there is no progress. I was told that I could modify the harness connector to allow clearance. I modified the connector and put the tire delete back on but I still had a half inch gap all around the delete bracket. So I odered Eight 1/2 x 3/8 x 1/2 thick rubber spacers that I attached with the eight bolts around the spare tire delete. I hope this helps anyone that wants to go through the PITA.

Gotta ask… WHY?
I drove over a drill bit the other day at a jobsite....was able to plug and inflate in less than 10 minutes!!! Far less time than dragging out jack and tools, remove spare, remove flat tire, install spare, install flat tire on tailgate, put jack away....and less work too.

100% if it’s pluggable I’ll be plugging it. I’d be done and driving away before I even got the spare off for sure. Hopefully it was pluggable..
Your unique case is totally different from an aesthetic perspective.. but his just looks goofy. Nobody asked me though

I agree the removal looks ugly and so do the bandaids.

While that is true, there will be times that just pugging a tire isn't going to cover it. If you do a lot of remote trails, I would recommend keeping the spare. It's always that razor rock or tree root you didn't see or account for that takes the sidewall into the realm of un-patchable.
YMMV 🤠

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for one of these right now and looking at options. Not sure why so many people don't get it; if you crawl a lot and drop on your spare you're in for a really bad time. Rear delete is almost essential for the more extreme angles.

Ok. Why not just remove the spare when needed, especially when both look equally goofy?

Because I primarily use the Bronco for off-road, not on-road. And in the very, very rare circumstances I've had a flat, I'd rather plug it or glue-tread it and be on my way. Takes me 5 mins to plug a flat and far less effort. De-beading is somewhat of a concern I guess, but I've only had it happen once in... 25 years? And even that was totally preventable and my fault.

My comment was not based on the need for a spare, but rather what looks goofier --- the missing spare, or the delete patch. That said, several options available for the latter.

Fair. Without a doubt I think it looks better with the spare, I just don't want to destroy the rear gate, latches, and rear window on Hells Revenge. All the deletes make the rear look kind of incomplete to me.

I know this is thinking outside the box, but doesn’t it make just as much sense to simply pull off the spare on those days you’re “Extreme” rock crawling?
