Some cat backs are sold as being 2.3/2.7 compatible?

Some manufacturers are selling/marketing cat back set ups that are 2.3 and 2.7 compatible while others have specific 2.3 and 2.7 models. MBRP and CVF for example market a 2.3/2.7 cat back setup that doesn't seem to be specific to either engine or specific to 2 or 4 door.
How does this work?... Are the exhaust hangers and mounting locations the same for 2.3 and 2.7?
Can you install any 2.7 cat back set up on a 2.3 Bronco or vise versa?

all same except 4 door is 15 inches longer which you cut off of the pipe to fit 2 door

There was one advertised here recently that had hangers for both the 2.3 and 2.7.

The stock rear tailpipe hanger is in a different location for the 2.3 vs the 2.7 so if an exhaust system (cat-back or axle-back) is advertised as working for both, you need to make sure it has a separate hanger bracket. They usually bolt right up to the 2.7 but need a brackets bolted onto the 2.7 bracket to move it inward to work with the 2.3. Some include and extra 15-16" pipe for the 4 door but the MBRP comes with the longer pipe for the 4 door but it needs to be cut to fit the 2 door.

I just installed the MBRP today. For a 2 door, it tells you to cut one of the pipes. For a 2.7 you use all the stock hangers, for the 2.3 it gives you a new rear hanger to swap in in place of the stock hanger.
