I use CorrosionX but when i mention it most folks look at me like i‘m from another planet. WD40 isn’t conductive but the film/residue it leaves behind collects dirt and dust that could be conductive over time. (WD means water displacing). The CorrosionX film will dry and be a corrosion preventative. The materials they use in connectors and wire coatings now is made from organic material (that’s why rodents like to chew it) so good call - no telling what wd40 would do to it.Bypass the WD40. It will do more harm than good. It’s electrically conductive and may melt the plastic and rubber in the connectors.
