We noticed a rattle coming from the soft top while riding around with the top all the way down. Had a bit of time this morning to track it down and it appears the top brackets were rubbing during lateral movement (you can see the rub marks in the first photo). Taking a page from Ford Engineering’s solution guide, I added a bit of the soft side of some industrial Velcro. So far it seems to have resolved the issue.

Went for a long ride today and can confirm the rattle is gone.

having a similar problem, but could you tanke another picture of the area you fixed zoomed out?
Sure can, I'll try to get one tonight when I get home. You may find you are rubbing in a different area. I found the issue by moving the top side to side as well as looking for wear marks.

You mentioned a rattle, but the fix seems to be a piece of Velcro to keep the two bars from rubbing as you open/close the top. It appears in the picture you posted that the Velcro’d area doesn’t even touch the other bar, so I guess I’m confused as to how it stopped your rattle noise?

The source of the rattle was from where the two brackets would come in contact from lateral (side to side) movement when hitting bumps in the road or rough terrain, not when opening/closing. The Velcro is just acting as a buffer between the two parts.

Ah, so the Velcro wraps around the backside of that bar and is in between the bar and the back hinge in the photo?

The top is not fully down in the photo, it is partially up to illustrate where the bars rub (circled). When the top is completely down the Velcroed area will be sandwiched between the 2 bars.

Mine has a rattle when the top is closed with the two little bars in the front. Thinking some felt tape will help.
