Hello team!

Yesterday I finally decided to nail down the source of a rattle that has annoyed me from day one on my 2022 Bronco. This rattle usually happens at low-to-medium speed when driving over uneven/cracked road that makes the rear of the vehicle shake.

After testing all of the surfaces, I finally isolated the source of the rattle to the soft top crossbar seen in this video. When I hit on the crossbar with my hand it makes the same rattle/vibration that lasts about 1 second after tapping it. It appears that there is a tension wire that goes through this crossbar for the soft top release mechanism and I suspect that it's that wire that's rattling in there. The soft top has otherwise been great and I'm a big fan.

Does anyone have similar issue with their soft top or know of a fix to suggest?

My 2022 Bronco is out of its warranty and this will not be covered, unfortunately. So I'll need to be able to handle this fix myself it looks like. Thank you in advance.

Just found this post. I am getting a lot of rattle from my soft top when driving on bumpy pavement. I have to try and isolate the sound this weekend. Started after I dropped my top for first time after the winter.
Anyone have a similar problem with the soft top?

I would suspect that when you closed your top after opening it, the roof latch above the passenger front and rear doors did not latch thereby leaving slack in the cable that then rattles. The latch point can be manually adjusted to make it easier for the top to latch itself when you close it from the drivers side. Otherwise, go to the passenger side and verify the middle is latched down before you close the front section.

Thanks Helipilot..I will have to look at it later today. I have been opening the top since I bought it in 2022 and never had problem in past. Hopefully this all it is and easily adjusted.
