So, I don't have the factory installed tow package. However I had the 7 pin kit installed, think that would do the trick?

I'm not sure. The harness supplied plugs in between the 7 pin factory wiring and 7-pin plug. It would work you just may have to hard wire the light instead of plugging it in.

That is exactly what I’m doing. Install starts tomorrow (plus a lot more lighting up front).

Here is mine. Made a simple L bracket to mount on the frame cross member to pick up the existing trailer hitch mounting holes (I dont have a hitch) and mounted a cheap Raxiom 14” super slim dual row LED bar. Cheap and works pretty good. This isnt the brightest light option out there, but it definitely works for this application.

So I had thought the whole idea of chase lights to be kinda silly, who would need them. My RC bumper came with lights and I finally mounted the to use as backup/camp lights, haven't used them for that yet but: On a Utah trip a few days ago I was following a half dozen UTVs who were kicking up a lot of dust. I was running my taillights and flashers but my buddy who was following said he could not see me until I turned on the LEDs, so I guess they do serve a valuable function.

I bought my bumper 95% for the lights on it. I was sick and tired of not being able to see when backing up. The middle lights come on when I put it in reverse, the outside pods come on with AUX 5. I am very happy with the lighting now, can see much better from the side mirrors and the backup camera.

I didn't want lights attached to my tire, don't like the look. And then when backing up when out such at as a restaurant, blinding people in parking lot of eating on a patio because the lights would be so high.

I got the F150LED bulbs for the backup lights, they are the new version with the heat sink, all you need, $120 for two bulbs may seem like a lot but great engineering
