I have tried everything I could find about disabling the seat belt minder. I am not one to not use a seat belt. In fact, I started using a seat belt all the time in 1973. I just like to start up the engine and let it warm up a little while I am fastening my seat belt. That chime just annoys me.

I tend to be very persistent and kept trying things. I discovered the "triple ding at startup disable" method and decided to give that a try. I now have no chime when I start without fastening my seat belt. That triple ding at startup must still be related to the seat belt because before, if I had my seat belt fastened at startup, it would not chime.

The method to disable the triple ding is in the FORScan spread sheet but I will repeat it here for anyone that is having no success in disabling the seat belt minder at startup. Of course it is done in FORScan in the IPC module under 720-01-02. The disable is xxxx-x2xx-xxxx.

Yes, I did all that and got the seat belt warning light flashes to confirm. I still got the chime. The final thing I did to turn off the chime at startup was the "triple ding at startup" disable as I described in my original post.

Believe me, I did about everything possible to disable the seat belt minder before I tried the triple ding at startup disable method.

Keep trying until it works. I was able to turn my driver and passenger (dog seat) belt minder alarms using this method.

It’s a bit like trying to program a 3rd key fob. It takes a few tries.

I did try that method three times with no good result. I must not be making myself clear. I don't have the seat belt chime anymore after using the "triple ding at startup" disable. I have no need to try anything else anymore.

I disabled my seatbelt minder with IPC 720-01-01. After I updated my stereo speakers, the minder became obnoxiously loud and needed my attention to subdue. Details for what I did are in the attached...

That is one of the many things I did in attempting to disable the seatbelt minder. It may have been part of disabling the chime at startup but I didn't get the final elimination of the chime at startup until I did the triple ding at startup disable.

My Bronco is a late (Nov. 24) build. Ford may have changes the programming to make it more difficult to disable the chime. I have nothing to back that up. it is just a shot in the dark. I started this post to help anyone that may be having the same problem I did. It may be what you did is also needed to eliminate that chime.

I've seen a few posts about this procedure and it's never worked for me, but none of them included the preliminary steps like having the parking brake set. I will definitely be trying this again.
