Anyone else been having this issue? To be honest, I need to head to the dealer and get this resolved; my seat belt keeps unlocking. Today for example, I got in, buckled up, and then tugged and shook the seat belt to make sure it was locked... then I drive for about 40 yards and... pop! It came undone.

I'm wondering if it was because dust got in there after off roading, but the other belts don't seem to be failing. I keep forgetting to swing by the dealer, but with some time off, I'll do it soon. Honestly, this is pretty scary, I'm not at all confident it will work in an accident.

FWIW, it does feel like the red switch isn't popping out all the way after locking... but when I tug and shake it, it feels fine. It's amazing how it pops open after such testing before I drive.

Ya, sounds strange, but yes. You get home and forget about it. Life is busy sometimes.
I’m just imagining you walking around with a broken arm because you’re so busy you forgot to go to the doctor several times. And yes I’m not going to be the last one to haze you here about this. None of us want to see you in a tragic post about a seat belt failure than ended in your demise.

to answer your question - this has not happened to me but if dust or mud got in there while off road it could be causing the issue. Try an air gun if you can access one.

You make fun, but I had some real bad pain in shoulder that was limiting my motion but I kept forgetting to call the doctor for an appointment lmao

If you have an air compressor, use it to blow compressed air into the latch mechanism to clean it out. Then check to see if the red button pops back up and the latch catches. If you don’t have an air compressor, you can buy a small can of compressed air used for dusting off electronics in any office supply store (e.g., Falcon Dust-Off).

Jesus, how much mud got in there? Seat belts are pretty basic. Yours probably needs replaced. If dust is making this happen i"d think there's something wrong with it

Maybe try a little white lithium or wd-40 after you blow it out
