And some State laws....the tire tread must be covered.
Precisely - why it looks bad
Anything that follows a safety regulation = looks bad.
Anything that looks dangerous = looks sexy

isn't that a universal truth?

Is that a kiddie pool cut and bolted on the side?
No. Those are official accessories!

If you buy a Cyber Orange Bronco, you’ll be forced to buy these in this color when you upgrade to 37’s!

I think the proportions that universally get the heads turning - are when the tire is slightly proud of the flares.
The SQ package does the opposite - which makes those big tires look too skinny for the overall height achieved.
* I'm sure its a highway safety regulation thing -

And Ford has to be 50 state legal. Your state might require less.

While I agree with you that they look dumb, I live on a self-maintained gravel road... I'm gonna need those flares, scratched fenders look dumber than weird flares

Exactly, im gonna need mud flaps too.

Is that cyber orange or school bus yellow? Or are they really different ?
Look the same to me. Can’t wait to get the flashing red lights so people can’t pass me.

Also the yellow bar in the front to whack the vehicle in front of me when they are holding me up!

Does it really matter what the state requires?
Do you think people with jacked up 4x4's and wheel spacers get pulled over and the CHP pulls out a straight edge to check for coverage?

Aren't the fender flares that far extended due to highway safety standards? Something about how the fenders on a vehicle need to extend out as far as the tires from the factory?
If you've ever wheeled or driven in the rain with no flares, you'll understand why they are required by some states. Roostertails of mud/water covers your driver/passenger windows and mirrors, not to mention the sides of your vehicle. Looks badass though ?

I have customers that tell me the PSP do it. Depends what kinda mood they are in.

Yes, I do think that the Ford corporation does care.

Do I think that the owners care after they have purchased the truck? No.

In Wisconsin, they are not even pulling people over for speeding anymore. People doing 80+ now days in 55 zones. Can’t image them measuring the size of your “flair”.

CHP in some parts have nothing better to do. My dad got pulled over one time because he was towing a small trailer in the wrong lane... despite it being grid lock traffic and the lanes shifting before he could get over!

Lanes 1-4, you could tow in 3 and 4, switched to 1-5, you can only tow in 4 and 5. He was in lane 3 for about a half mile at 30mph max when he got pulled over by a bike CHP. I was in the car or I wouldn't have believed it.
