In all fairness, box only says “do not drop”. Doesn’t say anything about not opening it 🤣
Well turns out they did drop it and the rear bracket was bent.

I just hammered it back flat with two small sledgehammers.

Count your hardware, I ended up with 38/40 5/16-18 bolts and 52/40 washers soo.... Yeah...

I don't recommend doing the install solo if you're the type to skip leg day. It's heavy and awkward by yourself, you can kind of hip thrust it into place, but easier to get a case of beer and a buddy. If you have air tools break them out, I get kind of lazy cause I don't like unrolling the hose, but there's a lot of nuts to turn.

Damn i was hoping they closed the gap to the front flare.

Are you a creative writer? Would any of you that have handled them and have seen how they are made care to take a stab at explaining at what point you would want the extra protection armor that RSE sells?

Do these step/sliders need the extra protection for Broncos that need steps first and want sliders just in case? Will these be damaged by drivers who will mostly try to avoid big rocks but on some trails not be able to avoid them?
Thanks

Armor is primarily for people who intend to slide their truck over rocks on purpose, not for an occasional hit.

Is the pic on the left showing the slider inside the armor?
If so., that armor is 2x.
I've read that RSE reduced their step/sliders gauge in an earlier revision.
What is the pic on the right showing?

I wasn’t part of the group buy, but did order some for my 2 door back in October and still waiting. I ordered from TCcustoms. I’ve called for an updated and said Rockslide was having issues with the mounting brackets. @Doetsch Off-Road any true about this?

Both photos are from the install guide and showing step and outer armor shell. Website says steps are 10 gauge (9/64") and armor is 3/16", so maybe the photos do not match production.

I was among the first few to order on the group buy (Oct 10) and my 2dr steps haven't shipped either, so there is apparently something wrong with the 2dr step production.
