Before my Bronco was a week old, I installed the Barricade Open Trail HD Running Boards. I have bounced off rocks many times and they are very strong. They are scratched, but not bent.

These steps came on my 2 door when I bought it and don't have any branding. (I found them via google photo search and they're junk from BuiltRough on Amazon. My fault for not researching and replacing prior to using)

Last trip out they bent right into the body so I want something with better protection/clearance & preferably some sort of step (sasquatch and lifting 2" + 37's).

There are so many options, who have you used that's really held up?

Did these attach to the pinch weld or to the side step mounts? Could you get a photo of the bent part from more under the bronco looking up?
Did the mount fail or was it just the slider itself that bent up?

That’s Cabezon Peak in New Mexico. It’s a lot larger than Devil’s Tower and rises 1600 feet above the surrounding landscape.

I won’t have time for photos for a few days, but they easily mount in the Ford factory holes for their steps and rock slider. That reminds me, I need to sell the factory rock sliders that came on my Black Diamond SAS.

Frame with a single bolt, bracket might have bent slightly, step/rail failed completely.

Thank you.
I would have thought the bracket was the weak link, but no it was not. Very interesting.
I didn't hit it that hard. Just garbage quality.

That also prevents that whole rock "sliding" element. Should be clear to all that a straight underside helps from getting hung up.

Very cool
New Mexico is a hidden gem as far as off-roading compared to say Colorado or Utah. Our club has encouraged our local politicians to at least be cognizant of this, but to little effect. politically, demographically, and in other ways we’re really just a dysfunctional county of Texas.

Here’s a profile view so you can see that the Barricade Open Trail HD Running Boards cover the pinch welds pretty well…

I can attest that the MetalTech 4x4 sliders are beefy. Dropped the weight of the Bronco on them and only a scuff. I got the Sidewinders.
