That's my dilemna. Do I get a nice Bronco- OBX or Badlands and run it down the road and trails. and get it scratched and beat up- Or get the cheaper Base and make it a rock crawler and to/from the trails and not care as much if it gets beat up... Right now we have a Polaris General that we use but would sell it... It only has 28" tires but has been all over CO...
We are just tired of hauling it to the trails. Would be so much nicer to drive to the trailhead, drive the trail and then drive home. Also would be great for running down all of the dirt roads here.
There is also the option of at least removing the fender flared and maybe even the fenders before rock crawling..
just depends on the trails your wanting to do......holy cross and easier get a badlands with Sasquatch and wheel it as is...independence, carnage canyon or Boulder canyon is what your looking to do, build a paid for pos or full tube buggy....but then your back to towing. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive my badlands to holy cross. Wheel all day then drive it home, but I also keep in the back of my mind I have to drive it home. Lol

This is going to be unpopular, If you want to get into the rocks it’s best to do it with a straight axle aka a wrangler.

We mainly run around Pitkin, Tin cup. Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel. Also around Crested Butte- Devils Punch Bowl, Keebler Pass, etc. Also around Westcliffe- Hermit Pass and Cloverdale Mine. These trails we do with the Polaris General. For the bigger rocks at places like Hot Springs ORV park we use the XP Turbo..

oh yeah. You would be fine with whatever you choose to do on those trails....but I still vote get the badlands cause it’s cool.

We used to get over there at least once a year- usually in the spring so the girls could see the dogwoods blooming. With our XP Turbos we ride all of the 1-3 trails and most of the 4's. My XP Turbo only has 30's on it...

Ever been to Green Acres in Clayton OK? We used to go there several times a year. Part of it was sold a few years ago and between that and the trails getting washed out we were beating our side by sides up too much...

No we never tried it, too many chances to ruin fenders and body panels is what I was told by several.

We do up to some "easier" 5 trails in the bronco. That pic was on Michael's Way the Rubicon a few years ago. It's washed out so much now it's a hard 5 and I can't make it up anymore. Can still go around it of course.

Just remember it's a rock crawler and not a rock bouncer and it will go plenty of places and get you home.
