Check out having someone do it. Probably will get it done faster and better than you. You’ll have to pay a little more of course. I think you’d be more happy with that in the end.

There are leather repair kits on Amazon that work decently. Bolsters are always the first to crack. The only vehicle I ever owned (with leather seats) that didn't crack was an 08 Volvo- they used the thickest leather imaginable on those indestructible seats.

When I had my '18 Mustang GT, the bolster started cracking at about 20k miles. The repair kit worked decently, but you need to have an airbrush to really blend the repair properly. If you don't have an airbrush and dye, the repair will look like a tar snake on the road.

I tried one of those leather patch kits before — honestly, it’s not worth it. I spent around $80 and a lot of time, and it only made things worse for the professional who ended up fixing it later. Those patches don’t blend well and usually start peeling after a few weeks.

I ended up going with a local restoration service like LeatherCareHelp.com. They didn’t use any patches — just proper repair materials — and the result still looks perfect after more than 6 months. My tear looked almost exactly like yours.

Get a new cover or seat bottom from recycler.

My experience with Katzkins is that they try super hard have amazing customer service just order direct on the phone and negotiate.

Serious quality issues re pattern and fit with poor fit whee installer end up stuffing foam in the get rid of wrinkles then seats take a while to heat up and have a different seating profile Never discuss any quality issues with installer just Katzkins they will take care of you even if it takes 5 visits. If you buy from installer they'll just tell you defects are normal and it's a hassle to get Katzkins to remedy.

A spot repair on a seam with stitching will not work out even in mid term.

Could b an opportunity to get recaros...

I’m pretty sure that particular section is vinyl. The “leather trimmed” seats are a combo of leather and vinyl. There is a member-made chart somewhere on the forum showing whats what.
