You're awesome, thank you very much! Now, I gotta figure out to run PIN 11 to get it illuminated. I bought a used harness that will be cut and spliced to the relay box under the hood.

Thank you @flip ! I'll be working on this Saturday, hoping I can use the existing Auxbeam box. I'm sure the relays are the same.

How did your install go? I'm looking to do this as well after assembling the parts specified by the OP.

Looks like a someone in China ran with this workaround and made a product. Includes a knockoff of the overhead switches specifically designed to fit into the sunglasses holder slot.

Curious if anyone has bought/tried?

This actually looks like a pretty good solution! Following.

I just ordered these direct ship to Canada. I'm going to post up the install and let folks know how the quality is. They look OEM so will be interesting to see fit and finish replacing sunglass holder. I'm going to buy the Mabett Fuse box cover that allows for a fuseable link unless I can find another suitable accessory fuse inside.

Well I dove in and got it done today. I have to say it was more than I had bargained for (4.5) hours total when it should have been 2 or so, but it was worth it! Looks factory and works as expected. The extra time was me hunting for the right torx driver and being extra careful.

I watched the Middleton Motorsports video for the factory switch install and modified it for not needing to mess with the factory harness or fuse box.

Here's the Pro's and Cons

Cons
- switches look and behave like factory
- you keep your overhead console
- no coding needed as you are off the factory harness
- the Hanspilot harness, bracket, distribution box and switch quality all seems good
- the leads are all well marked for main power, tie to OEM aux wiring and ground.
- you only need to disassemble 1/2 as much as factory retrofit as you can get the unit fitted without messing with the passenger side harness

Cons
- You need to mount their distribution box and don't get the full OEM fusebox integration
- The instructions are terrible and you need to watch the Middleton video and know how to wire the main and ground and accessory as their are no instructions for that
- You need to cut a notch internally to run the new harness out of the sunglass area. Minor issue, see picture.
