Hello! I had an unfortunate situation where something (likely ice/debris) cracked my mirror cover and ripped out the exterior mirror mounted turn signal. Everything else is intact.

I am trying to figure out how to replace the turn signal. I know I can get a new mirror cover and slot the turn signal into it. However, I have not been able to find online how to electronically reconnect the turn signal back into the bronco/ mirror assembly cabling.

Could someone please explain how this would work? The cable for the turn signal is still there, with a female pin connecter at the end of it intact. Could it be as simple as plugging the new blinker into that cable/ connector, or am I going to have to replace the whole cable or splice something when I get the new one?

Thank you and I hope this makes sense!

The left mirror spot light part number is M2DZ-13B374-A. If the wiring connector is still intact, it sounds like you just need to buy a new one and install it.

This video shows you how to get to it. You can compare how this looks to yours to see if everything looks good to just replace the cover and light:

Hey! Thanks for sending this, but ive actually been watching this specific over and over.

He is installing a non-OEM turn signal and from what I can tell , what he does underneath the hood to connect it to everything is different than if it was an OEM part.

I noticed in the video he snips the original cable and leave it intact to maybe use in the future. Guessing I could do the same to attach the new one?

Just seems wrong to have to do that cut up a new part that comes with the cable integrated/ attached. But I’m not super familiar with any of this. Thanks!

Yeah he’s making a modification. I am not suggesting you do exactly what he says, just follow part about pulling off the cover and accessing where the light mounts as a reference..

If you say the wire and connector are intact, then just plug that connector into a new light, reassemble and done. Don’t run new wires or make any modifications.

The Bronco does not have turn signals in the mirror cap. They are only a spotlight on your OBX.

@Ducati1098 might be able to help get a part number for just the spotlight.

I have a black gloss, driver side mirror I'm selling. I messed up my passenger side & most places online make you buy the pair. DM me if you want it.

@DarthLincoln got it correct in post 2
@AWM109 to echo what was already posted, if the connector is still intact and all the wiring is okay like you mentioned, all you will need is the part number previously posted and it will simply plug right into the new light.

@DarthLincoln @Ducati1098 I guess I don’t understand then why he had to cut the wire in the video. It looked like the cable was orginally integrated into the spotlight. The connector I have is what is past that round circle.

Yeah just ignore the cut wire. That video is about modifying it.

The video was just an example of how it’s connected.

If you still have the connector, like it seems you do, then all you need to do is plug it back in while replacing the light.

@Ducati1098 cool! Hopefully I can just remove that circle connector thing on the new one and just plug it back in. I would go and and check the undamaged side but it’s 0 degrees and snowing.

A new light won’t come with the connector, so there’s nothing to remove. You just need to plug your existing connector into the light during reassembly.

Here is what a new light will look like:

It might help if you take a picture of what’s left in your damaged mirror as far as the wiring just so I can make sure we are on the same page lol
