Has anyone upgraded the base model mirrors to the ones with the turn signal built into them? I know the mirrors get power, but I dont know if theres a separate wire or run for the turn signal. Thanks in advance.

There are no broncos with that feature (I am not speaking for the Braptors, those I have no clue on). You could be confusing the zone lighting feature as a turn signal.
To which, we know that the zone lighting is entirely CanBus driven and hasn’t been “solved” yet.
If I were to guess, you might be able to order the mirror caps/assemblies and swap them. There is potential to feed 12v to them on your own circuit - if they indeed take 12v.

I think the decision was that these are just marker lights due to the width of the Braptor and do not flash with the turn signals, but I could be mistaken.Ah it does appear to be a Braptor thing. Interesting.
There was a thread on here where someone did get it working though as a turn signal.

honestly, it is just something that will cost more to fix or replace. stick with the base mirrors.
those aren’t really “Ditch” lights on the side of the mirrors - they turn off if you exceed like 5mph which which makes the pretty useless. I wish there was a way to override that in speed limit in FORScan but there isn’t AFAIK.This what comes with High/Lux Broncos.
Ford calls them “Spot“ lights, and used for zone lighting to light up the surroundings when parked.
They are not intended just for zone lighting. They can be turned on independently while driving with the buttons next to the headlamp switch, while driving.
I'm sure Ford cuts them out at 6mph for liability reasons, just like the 360 cameras. They figure if you are going faster than 6mph, you should be looking at what's in front of you. I'm sure lawyers came up with that number.

Yeah, but almost every time i wanted to use them and press one of the buttons, I am exceeding the 6pm limit. Pulling into my narrow garage at night is the only time I’ve found it useful.
If they worked up to like 12mph or 20mph, or only worked in an off-road GOAT mode like the cameras that would add a lot of utility.
I’m guessing that it’s a legal issue about shining light to the side while driving. E.g. some states requires auxiliary driving lights to be not just turned off but also covered when on-road. Maybe the 6mph cutoff avoids them being defined legally as auxiliary driving lights.

You can get the turn signal inserts for the mirror assembly on Amazon. I think they are branded by Archaic. They replace the factory spot light in the mirror housing.
