genuine question- why would someone not want a spare tire? is it because they're relocating it to the roof or something? just riding around with a tire plug kit and a compressor seems not as good to me- i know when i had sports cars with no spare and just a plug kit i always felt like it would really suck to get a flat

Anyone know if any other company is working on a spare delete kit? Bodyguard one is a little pricey for me....

I will need a delete kit once they come out with rear bumpers that have a tire carrier mount. I don’t want the weight of the tire flexing the rear door long term so I plan to get a bumper mount, which by default will require a delete of the stock mount.

is the weight of the tire on the rear door an issue for factory spares or is this because you're going with something bigger/heavier?

It’s not necessarily an issue. I plan to keep the factory spare size (35”) but there are plenty of posts about creaks and noises from the rear door. Some of those are due to bump stop gaps, but that tire back there is heavy. Rock it back and forth a bunch on a trail and I could see how over time there might be some longevity issues with all the hardware back there. The rear bumper mount is just piece of mind for me long term.
