Rear Seatbelt Delete RESISTOR

Hey everyone! I have been searching for the past hour or so, reviewing so many rad rear seat delete threads in order to help gruide my own project. I would really like to use a resistor to bypass the rear seatbelts instead of disassembling the rear seatbelt recepticle to plug it - this is motivated by my desire to reinstall the rear seats as a unit without transferring the rear seatbuckles every time.

Has anyoe confirmed that a resistor will solve the issue? I found a few threads that hinted at this being possible, but every request for details/confirmation seems to be unanswered. My best guess is a 2 ohm resistor at the buckle, and a 1.4 ohm resistor for the reel/pretensioner -- can anyone confirm this? I'd be down to buy a premade unit if it is available too, feel free to share any suggestions!

Another option is to order the buckle assembly. Keep your seats and their assembly intact. Disassemble the ordered buckle assembly to plug into the sensor.

You need a 2.4 ohm resistor for the reels plug. You cannot fake the Hall effect sensor for the buckle, so just remove it from the seat, plug it back in, and leave them under the handy rubber flap Ford provided.

I think that would be a lot cleaner, but I wanted to be somewhat reversible so I used hokey zip ties to secure them and have forgotten about it since

I was just poking around inside my 2Door and it looks like it may be workable to unbolt everything and then stash the belt assembly inside the plastic trim under the toolbar. TBD. I hope to have some warm days over the holiday so I can start tinkering.

I purchased extra rear seatbelts so I can defeat the dash alarm without having to disassemble/smash the current buckles. This way, same as your thinking, if I want to reinstall the rear seats it should be pretty easy.

For anyone that has to reinstall the seats or just contemplating having the option, then just zip tie the straps. Ideally, they could be stashed behind the plastic trim. But you don't want to be popping the panel along with likely destroying the clips whenever you want to reinstall the seats.

Agreed. Good point about it not being a good idea to open the side trim repeatedly. Hopefully I don’t break one of those darn tabs. In my case I’m 98% sure that the rear seats will never go back in, but ya never know.

I’ve been inside that panel once before but from the bottom, I haven’t opened the top section yet.

I also need to tinker with the extra rear buckles I purchased and see if I can disassemble them. TBD.

I’m going back and forth on building V2 of my current DIY platform, sans rear seats, or pulling the trigger on some custom drawers.
