Looking for some help on this one. I removed my rear bumper to replace the top plastic trim cap a few weeks ago and I can't get the rear parking sensor connections back together. A teenager backed out of a parking spot next to mine and clipped my rear fender's end cap. When their car pulled the end cap off it also ripped some of the plastic connectors on the top plastic trim on the bumper. So I had to replace both items. After replacing the cap and top plastic trim piece (both FoMoCo parts), I was unable to reconnect the backup sensor wire connectors. As much as I tried, the two connectors just won't snap together, on either end. Either something broke or I'm doing it all wrong! Hoping it's the later. Has anyone else ever had this problem and figured out? Thanks in advance.

Use a dielectric grease on the seal especially. These connectors are a PAIN without it.

Also, make sure there are no grains of sand/dirt or tiny pebbles in there… mother nature finds a way

Good reminder to put a little of that specific type of lube anytime opening these connections. Saves headaches later

Cross posting from the a related thread, I had the same issue. Installed the Factory Tow Hitch package on my 2025 Bronco Badlands and the bumper connects would not latch together.

Went down to the auto parts store and taking the the additional advice in the forum due to working with electrical connectors, purchased a two part solution:

WD-40 Contact Cleaner (for electrical parts, quick drying, no residue), cleaned both sides of the connectors with a generous squirt, let dry for 30 seconds.

CRC dielectric grease, a good amount applied into the bumper side connector.

Pushed them together, and they connected without issue. Problem solved, no more errors, sensors alert appropriately, and the license plate is illuminated.
