How is it different from not buying any other car because you think it’s fugly? I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we all have our own deal-breakers!
well i think its different because it doesnt exist anywhere else. what other halo car do people prefer the lower trim over cosmetics? genuine question.

I’d say it’s more complex than just a cosmetic difference, but it’s a factor. The Filson will narrow the gaps, but up until now there’s been quite a significant difference in size, price, and personality between the Braptor and other trims. And despite its engineering, the Braptor look simply is a non-starter for some people. I understand that a proud Braptor owner might not see it the same way. Maybe the whale-tail 911 discussed above is a good example. It was a great performance vehicle, but a lot Porsche enthusiasts hated it. Looks matter with vehicles. Always have.

PS: Maybe Stroppe is another good example. Loved the spec, wanted a 2DR, but the color scheme was just a no go. Don’t disrespect it, just not for me (and a lot of others it seems).

And other people can’t justify a raptor, and will shit on the most minutiae detail to validate their purchase because it threatens their masculinity.
I just didn’t like it (and I’m not alone, as the start of this thread demonstrated). Same with Stroppe. Neither is for everyone. It’s cool that you like yours. Rock on! Everyone’s masculinity is intact!

This is the longest thread I’ve ever been on. You got your money’s worth @chris_rosen. You summoned the Raptors with your “obnoxious fenders” comment. @HalfmuleFarmer, get some sunshine brother. You’ve been at the keyboard since this thing started. I think you have responded to everyone.

I and more than a few others preferred the 370z over the GTR. Aesthetics go a long way for some of us 🤠

Sounds like you are still trying to convince yourself. Not many trucks are "Halo" vehicles" 🤠
the only one thats trying to convince someone of something is you. facts are facts, whats the superior car? not the car you can only afford, or the one that tickles your pickle. whats it cost and what are you getting out of it? performance is a quantifiable metric. while you might buy your performance cars to only achieve the look you are after, others actually buy them for performance. and you dont know what halo means, EVERY make has their halo variant. the GTR is not the halo of the 370z, that would be the nismo 370z.

Is that referenced towards me or the reply? I have taken my Raptor on several trails and have received some beauty marks already. My reason for asking about that system is specifically because everything I am seeing is several years old or just dirt bikes and quads on trails. Mainly I am looking to avoid having to back out on a trail that suddenly becomes very narrow, pinstripes I am not worried about. Yes the Raptor is wide, and I knew that going in, but it has (mostly) went everywhere I previously went in my Jeeps and was a lot better overall. Personally, I would still get a Raptor over the Filson.

It was a compliment to you.
Others lie or have never been on a trail and then lie, you told the truth and had no qualms about asking.

Defender folk have a certain stereotype attached to them. Ford filson hopes those folks are as shallow as the stereotype tells of

And Lake Havasu City wants to be Palm Springs..

I try to be truthful about my Bronco, I know it isn’t for everyone, but the Raptor was really the only Bronco I wanted. That’s not a slight towards anyone else’s Bronco, but for me it was what I wanted when moving from a Jeep.

I'd have a two door raptor that wasn't as wide tracked as a hummer.

The
Body Width
Axle width
Wheelbase
four Doors
Are all that kept me from a raptor.

I know where my two door can easily go that a raptor can't.
I don't know where a raptor can go that my two door can't.
