Long story short, got a Steeda Axleback months ago from a friend, and combo'd with the CVF Downpipe, it drones. My previous two attempts to fix it were a bust (wrong sized Resonator and wrong muffler as guy selling his meant Bronco Sport), so now I'm at a different conclusion; get a touring exhaust that is just a hair louder than OEM but also looks better.

I do like how the Steeda and Downpipe crackles and pops, but not a fan of turning up my music to kill the drone, but then again, if I'm gonna replace it, might as well be styling about it, so here we are. Any suggestions appreciate, esp as next month I'm driving 14hrs to Tennessee, so wanna not be in the drone zone.

I've been very happy with my MRT setup. Zero drone. Enough volume to hear good feedback from the motor when on the trail. The tone of the sound is lower and more substantial. It doesn't leave you feeling that someone tried to make a 2.3L sound like a V8. On top of all that, very affordable and the best quality of materials.
Edit: I've had 3 previous MRT systems. Two on Mustangs and one on a vintage Lincoln. One Mustang was a V6, the other a 2.3L turbo. The Lincoln is a good ol' V8.

you misunderstand, I expected loud, just not this loud. It was a gift and I figured Id try it, didnt think it through was all. Its not the end of the world, I can a

Gift!? You got some nice friends lol. But yeah.. next time you see a "muffler" that small.. you'll now know it really ain't gonna muffle worth a shit lol. Especially with an aftermarket downpipe.

I have no muffler at all and I guarantee your setup is miles louder than my rig... Big DP's with hi flows really make a difference in volume.

Just based off the size & shape of the thing when I googled it.. appeared as if it would be straight through. It's chambered though?

So if your question is “Is it a classic chambered muffler like a Flowmaster Super 44” the answer is probably not. If your question is “Does it use an internal muffler/chambering design instead of being straight-through?” Then yes, the Elite Trail Rated systems definitely do have an internal muffler designed to shape sound and control drone. That said, I can definitely feel a reduction in backpressure with this system, so there is some degree of straight throughput. The guys @MRTperformance can probably explain more.

2nd for Borla Touring, it's only slightly louder than stock when warm. I think I posted a video here with a comparison.

Another vote for mrt. I got the elite axle back. Love it. Nice startup sound. No drone. Makes noise when mashing the pedal

I have the MRT trail axle back. Having a manual transmission makes it fun going through the gears. Cruising at highway speed yes it is a littler louder then the tires but not much. The Bronco isn't my daily, I have a Vstrom 650 for that task. Happy with my decision on getting an MRT exhaust.
