I'm just trying to get a few of your thoughts. I'm looking at purchasing a 2021 2.7 Bronco with 5-25k miles, but am seeing that most of them in my area have the open recall on the Intake Valve Stem. It seem like this is an issue that will be resolved/fixed in 2025. I am guessing all of you will say not to purchase one of those vehicles and it makes sense. With that said, is there a risk to reward to purchase one of them now as I might get a better deal as people are scared of them? Thanks in advance.

I believe the dealer is to test the engine to verify if there is an issue and take care of it. Mine is in the window and I just cleared 45,000 miles. It seemed that most of the Broncos that got the bad valves had issues within 5,000 miles. Not sure if they have issued the recall quite yet but I’ve been keeping an eye out to see if and when I can go get checked out. So far I’ve been blessed, knock on wood.

So from what I've read from the Ford site. The dealer revs the engine for a certain amount of time and if the valves don't break, it's good to sell and in 2025 I should be able to get the recall addressed. But if the valves blow after I purchase the truck I am SOL until Ford starts to fix the recall in 2025. Sound about right?

All I know is I have the recall. I am at 47,000 miles with no engine issues. And they are extending the powertrain warranty for 10yrs, 150k miles. So I am keeping this car for life.

The recall isn't active yet, so none of it can be completed at this time.

I'm in this exact boat right now. The one I want with the features I want at the price I want has this recall and only like 15k miles. I don't know if I should buy or just let it go.

Am I missing something? If the engine fails does it not fall under the powertrain warranty anyway. Five year 60,000 miles. Therefore, requiring replacement at the point of failure?

They extended the warranty on the engines to 10 year 150k miles for those engines under the recall. If it fails before they process the recall you are good.

Except for being without your Bronco for God knows how long.
