Talked to my dealer who is a small dealership and said I was priority code 2. I was looking to change the bumper to modular and said it was locked by Ford. Is this true when you are priority code 2? How long have people waited when they became priority code 2? I know allocation is what to comes down to. My dealer gets 1 to 2 allocations a month very low.

Configuration becomes locked when scheduled to be built. If dealer is accurate about it being locked that may be your best indicator it has been scheduled or is about to. The dealer should have known if scheduled though.

I have heard things about priority code 2 showing up just before getting scheduled, but I didn't experience that myself. Then again it may be a short window it appears like that and since I can't check priority without checking with dealer the odds were unlikely to catch it there.

That said, priority 2 is a meaningful higher priority. What we know is that 99 is sidelines and won't be scheduled, 19 is normal priority (wherever you fall in the queue with all factors) and I believe it is 10 that some get which far as I am aware is functionally equivalent to 19.

So a Priority 1-9 is set by Ford. A dealer has no authority to set a priority higher than 10.

The Priority 2, which has been reported by others, seems to be a new action by Ford to lock orders that are intended to be scheduled in the near future.

They used to leave the order at the dealer set priority allowing changes to be made up till a VIN was assigned and scheduled.

The dealer priority code of 10-19 carried the same weight for MY'21. But was quietly changed for MY'22 and going forward. Dealers have the authority to assign varying priorities, but are reluctant to do so as they would be opening Pandora's Box if they determined favored priority. By leaving their orders with the same priority, the burden of scheduling falls on Ford and the voodoo that they work to determine which orders are scheduled.

He said it hasn't been scheduled but it should be next I have a black diamond 2 door and he has a big bend also priority code 2. Big bend is easier to build so I bet Ford pulls that first.

Thanks @beachbum everything I read you could change it. No big deal if I get picked. All I read is what you said you could change it till your got a vin. So Ford started using the priority code 1-9 after the model year 21 or was it done for model year 23?

Most people would recommend you don't jeopardize your build by trying to make changes now, after VIN

The PC 1-9 is always available, but it is normally used only in extenuating circumstances. i.e. Someone's built vehicle falls off the carrier as it is being loaded at MAP. Bam. That build will get a PC 1 and it will go to the front of the line to be built again.

This instance that you and a few others have recently indicated is a new use by Ford for MY'23. Seems as if they are trying to work through the backlog and by "locking" the orders with high PC, they can more readily plan the commodities needed to schedule and build outstanding orders.

Yes, the old policy of being able to make changes up to when a VIN was assigned was only able to do so as those orders retained the original PC assigned by the dealer.

PC 1-9 seems to lock the orders. Your dealer may be able to have success contacting their zone rep to lobby for a change to an order.

Thanks @Beach_Bum!!! I don't plan on changing it I can always go after market for what I want. I rather have it in my driveway. Yes my dealer said he never sees a PC 1 which it looks that is only for when a car is damaged. So there is hope I do get my Bronco with Ford using priority codes for MY23. Hopefully there is a light at the end of this Bronco tunnel.

I'm also a priority 2 at my dealer, I'm about #34 on their list. A bunch ('over 50') are also Priority 2.
I was wondering if it was significant or whether most of the early reservations were also P 2.
It appears it's not unusual to be a P2, but I take it as a good sign. At least Ford didn't forget about me...

@Fly by Nite what is your build and how many allocations does your dealer get? So you don't know how many are priority code 2 at your dealer. My dealer said I should be in his next allocation but who knows with Ford?

I have a 2 door V6 BaseSquatch on order, Aug 2020 reservation.
I'm with Chapman, they still have 238 unscheduled. Tough to put a number on their allocations, they were told 'about 50' for 2023 a few months ago, but they're getting a whopping 24 for Feb.
It almost appears Ford is making an effort to fill these orders! That will be be confirmed if they continue to hold off on opening the 2023 order banks.

As this use of early PC by Ford seems to be new for MY'23, it would be interesting if a poll could be set up to ascertain more data. i.e. Are all Aug '20 orders and earlier assigned the PC'2? Maybe any rolled over MY'21 order is assigned the PC'2?

Of course, the data is only relevant so far as what everyone's respective dealer is willing to share. Surely when the COVP was completed for MY'23, everyone's assigned PC by their dealer was 10-19. Was it after the 11/21/22 (or was it 11/23/22?) deadline to convert that Ford "locked" these orders with an early PC assignment?

I certainly haven't been paying attention that closely as my original order is with Granger and it sits in allocation purgatory and won't be picked until MY'25. Not all that concerned with the week-to-week scheduling as I have a Bronco parked in my garage. If/when Ford decides to pull my order, I may be ready to trade in my current Bronco.

I have a friend who reserved/ordered at Chapman on 1/29/21 who is also P2.
The next significant date in the Bronco order timeline was March 19, 2021. The next date was Sept 2021 when Ford used that cutoff for the allocation formula.
The March '21 date would make sense for the P2, but it could also be much, much later.

I checked in with my dealer a couple weeks ago (the one year anniversary of my order was a few days before Christmas) on my normal monthly check. They couldn't believe that I wasn't scheduled yet and that there had been no activity since September, when it was confirmed as a MY23. They looked in the system and saw the Priority Code 2, as well. I've been quietly hoping I'd have a VIN email soon, but so far, no dice.

@Rocket4X4 what is your build and are you at big or small dealer? Did your dealer tell you how many reservations they still have? Let us know if you get picked next month when they do scheduling. It will be interesting to see if priority code 2 actually means you get picked.
