  1. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

Thanks all for the comments. I appreciate it. I'll see what the shop says.
  2. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

Thanks. Some of the arguments remind me of something back with my original 88 Bronco II (and two others I later got). I would lock the hubs at the first threat of snow and leave them locked till after winter. This enabled me to switch from 2H to 4H on the fly at any speed. People would say...
  3. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

Thanks. I never heard of a transfer case recall and when I scheduled the appointment he reviewed recalls and didn't mention one. I am always believe if they can't replicate a problem they will dismiss it, say it is a glitch or otherwise do nothing. We will see what the dealer does in a few days.
  4. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

If it is not for dry pavement, they should be clear it isn't. If not dry pavement, what is its use, wet roads? Cause anything worse than we 4H would be fine. Equally, it seems doing aggressive things in sport mode would include on dry pavement.
  5. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

Thanks for the info. I only have a bit over 7K miles in 4 years. The reason I been running 4A recently is: 1) I paid for the ability, it should work. 2) I want to give it a reasonable shakedown while I still have warranty coverage (I extended it). All told in 4A I have maybe 700 miles.
  6. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

To clarify, you're saying you engaged 4H and drove to work? That was a typo, I mean't 2H to go to work.
  7. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

MY22, 2 door, 2.3L, manual, squach, advanced 4x4 Any anybody know how 4A might suddenly act like 4H binding on dry pavement? And then fix itself after using 2H several days. I had been in 4A for months and hadn't switched modes anytime around when this started. Is this something that...
  8. Brake Maintenance Mode?

That worked great, thanks. I did it slightly different in that I compressed the cylinder as I rotated Torx for the EPB. Got the messages but between cycling power off then on and applying and turning off the parking brake it cleared. I just did the rear brakes which seems to be the norm for...
  9. Brake Maintenance Mode?

I've tried procedures I seen in YouTube videos, procedure found using google and the procedure I found on this form, none have any effect to get it into Maintenance mode. Did Ford disable this function in an update somewhere along the way? Did they make it smarter so maybe it is not needed...
  10. Power steering assembly being replaced

Scary that it could lock completely just like that. I have started having stiff steering. At first after driving a long time, just stiff, and not returning to center. Now it is stiff all the time. Going to the dealer.
  11. All windows stopped working

I thought it was me not hitting the button long enough as well. I never experience it with my Bronco Base with automatic transmission. Also, I do have the clutch fully in and when it aborts the crank like that the car continues to roll because it wasn't anything to do with the crank but just...
  12. All windows stopped working

2022 2 door, manual trans, Black Diamond trim, Squatch In short, windows were open all day, stated the car and neither window would close. No messages on the displays indicating a problem. Thinking maybe a glitch, stopped, restarted it, a few things like that no effect. Drove to the dealer a...
  13. Parking Brake Issue? - just how does if function

No I don't. Although there is salt in the winter.
  14. Parking Brake Issue? - just how does if function

very good point. I normally won't but unfortunately with as steep as my driveway is, I don't trust the trans in park to be reliable.
  15. Parking Brake Issue? - just how does if function

Thank you for confirming it is the actual brake pads compressing. You say any car would do this, I disagree as leaving a car sitting for 6 months is not unusual for me. My experiences were minor, this was uniquely severe.
  16. Parking Brake Issue? - just how does if function

I was recently away for 6 months. My Bronco was sitting. My driveways is also very steep or otherwise I wouldn't bother with the parking brake. When I drove it after getting back there was a very severe shake when applying the brakes. I mean very severe. My bronco is 2 years old with...
  17. Manny tranny owners, would you do it again?

Yep quite aware of the emission factor as well, while you say strictly emissions there are some benefits. I just decided to stay away from the emissions in my description since mashing the pedal under load is not good fo performance as well as emissions. I really do need to get one of those...
  18. Manny tranny owners, would you do it again?

Manual trans was a big part of my decision. And I do prefer it. That said it is the lest fun manual trans I have ever drove. It took me a while to figure out why. It just felt like I couldn't make smooth shifts which was odd cause I never had that problem and I've driven manual trans fo 40...
