Jesus H Christ on a cross, where are you people driving? I’ve never had to repair or replace a windshield. I’ve been driving for 33 years.
What are you driving though? It's really mostly an issue with upright flat windshields. Jeep has gradually been adding more curvature and rake to the wrangler making it less prone, but its still worse than your average vehicle.

Free replacements here in MA, so one thing at least us Massholes don't need to worry about with our Broncos!

It's a comically bad issue here in AZ with ALL cars. Fiance just bought a Mercedes, this year already has two nasty chips. We just always make sure we have glass coverage. 🤷

Fortunately with the shape of the front end on the Bronco, the grill would be taking the bulk of the impacts otherwise, which is easily replaceable. Unlike my STI which has hundreds of rock chips in bumper, front fenders, and hood.

Chips like these happen probably once a year. This one sounded like bullet hitting my window, startled the crap out of me.

The First Edition that was in Evansville Indiana on Saturday was not available for viewing due to a cracked windshield. They got a new one in by the end of the day and I snuck in for a private viewing. 🥷

I'm used to it in Alaska. I've never had an uncracked windshield. I hardly bother replacing them anymore, it'll be broken again in 6 months. And I'm talking cracked all the way across, not just a chip.

I've actually discovered that a broken windshield gets hit with fewer rocks. Weird phenomenon but absolutely true.

Does sitting up higher alleviate this issue to any degree? I suppose not, but I'd hope that with the big lift the rocks would hit the front before popping over the hood onto the windshield.

I have replaced mine twice in 7 years. Most times you can fix them before they crack with the kits you can get from any auto store.

Both times I could have fixed the ones I had to replace, but the first time I was lazy and waited to long and the second time I used the 3M kit, and it can cause the crack to spread if you are a bit heavy handed, which I was. doh.

My Element had more replacements than my Jeep has had.
