So if the undercarriage is the same as the new Bronco, should be easy to add Amp Research Power steps,

These would be nice. I'm expecting there will be some choices in the options.

I like these. this was going to be my third and last add on after the bigger engine and 4wd on demand.

little concerned about losing clearance with just the auto step version though

After having factory power steps on my F150 these are a must have!

I would like to see a combination power step / rock rail. Something a bit more durable that can take some abuse. I was going to custom build a pair for my Jeep but no need for that now. And I agree, after having them on the F150, they are a must

I sent a request to them to see if they were contemplating the Bronco...

I am familiar with them and Rock Slide Engineering (Jeep only) produces a great product.

Opens when the door is opened... I guess your SOL with the doors off?
I’m sure you could put a switch in to operate them.

Sure! I reserved a Badlands 2 door, because THAT'S WHAT I WANT. I will run trails and country roads, but I'll never run rocky terrain! So, my wife is a tiny 4' 10", and she could never get in the Bronco, without a step (or could she get in any of the three Wranglers that I have had). I hate that I will need to remove the Rail, but I intend to add a good Power Step package (I guess from AMP), because they fold up to look similar to a rock rail... and they aren't kinda nasty looking, in a fixed and lowered position. Well, I did a bit of research on AMP, and they no longer offer a Power Step for a 2 door JL series (I expect because at about only 5% of Jeep sales, there isn't enough market). Best I can tell looking at the Bronco reservation list, about 30% of these reservations are for the 2 door. I guess we'll have to wait to see our options.

I, too, reserved a 2 door Badlands. I worry about being able to get in it. That step idea might serve the purpose. Wonder how much impact it could take?
