Road signs tend to be a bit conservative. There may be one small place where it’s 6, but the rest of the place it’s less.

we have one here that says 8, but my inclinomter says it’s closer to 5. And I’d believe 5 on average - there is one spot where it’s steeper for a couple dozen yards. Out drive is 12 at the steep part and the inclinometer reads 12 on it.

Does the road sign say 6 degrees or 6 percent? Tangent (rise over run) of 3 degrees is just over a 5% grade, or in other direction, 6% grade is 3.4 degrees.
That is a good point. I didn't even think about the difference between % and °

Curious...is there a threshold to our inclinometer? Does it turn "red" when it gets close to the Bronco's roll & pitch design limits?

According to the folks at the Texas Off-Roadeo there really aren't defined or recommended 'limits' on pitch and roll because it varies so much by tire size, lift, load, load location, even tire pressure, etc., all of which affect the center of gravity which determines the pitch and roll 'limits'.

6% on the street sign, 3 degrees in the dash

We went over this earlier in this thread, in which I learned something:

100% = 45 degrees

So your Bronco math is correct - roughly 2% per Degree

That said, I’ve been to 27 degrees side to side, and 40 vertical when I’ve managed to glance at the display. And pooed myself both times. I’ve heard of folks doing a lot more and I can only imagine

I’ve heard the display will turn red at some point but I’ve always been to busy puckering to notice

Sort of already covered...

I have never seen a road sign that listed degrees for a grade - alway percent, which is easier to measure anyway.

A couple of years ago out of curiosity I made an Excel spreadsheet that converts percent grade to degrees listing from 0 to 100 percent in steps of one.

For 6 percent it shows 3.43 degrees.
