Passenger door rattle - SOLVED

OK, I have to admit that I am a fiend for unexplained rattles when you hit bumps. Drives me insane (and my wife too). I had this rattle coming from the passenger door area for weeks and I couldn't figure it out. I took doors and panels off, touched things, took things apart, etc. I'm driving to work the other day and i hit that same bump as every other day and the door rattled, as I knew it would. I thought about it for a second and I then took the passenger side seatbelt and clicked it into the receiver and problem solved, no more rattle. I've kept the seatbelt clicked but I'll have to figure out if the noise is inside the panel or is the belt tab hitting the plastic. I don't think it's the belt hitting the plastic because the sound that the rattle makes doesn't sound "plasticky" if that makes sense. Anyway, I'll do some more investigation and if I figure out how the rattle manifests I'll post an update.

Rattles and squeaks drive me crazy too! I think some members have found a rattle stemming from the belt mechanism itself. If I recall correctly, it was the little ball or pin that locks the seat belt position when seat belt engages.

You can probably wrap a sock around the buckle and see if the sound changes. I had that problem in my pickup and figured out I could turn the buckle a half turn against the seat and it stopped.

Oh, the base of my hilift mounted on the bull bar for the bronco rattles, you guys would go insane....

They do make stick-on belt holders that you can also use to pin that down.

I even think StickerFab had them.
