That out of the way, competition is good for everyone. I don't want Ford sitting on their laurels and tossing out a fox shocks package with some aftermarket grille and wheels and trying to convince me they're innovating.

Yeah I see that, however Nissan is sucking rocks right now and struggling to stay alive. Maybe they will see that in the US market, which this is designed for I suspect, how well ice options are selling and go that route.
So far the US is not in favor of electric or hybrid 4x4s. It all depends on what market they plan to share space in.

I believe the article with that pic said it was a custom build made up of other Nissan truck parts for the front end. It does look good.
