First post here, haven't lurked here in quite some time.

I'm at a point in my life where I can finally afford a nice new car and Bronco has had my attention even before it was showcased back in 2020 (I work in automotive market research/forecasting).

I always followed my grand father's advice: Never buy first year production. lol

That said I am seeing and hearing lots of problems with Bronco ordering. Lots of horror stories.

I'm just trying to get a sense of what is going on.

I've building and pricing various Broncos, but have been hesitant to pull the trigger.

An acquaintance of mine (ford dealer repairman) has told me if I ordered today I wouldn't get it until next April. That I could expect the dealerships to screw around with me. I might pushed over into the 2023 model. There's a shortage with the hardtops. I am not even sure how the financing works when putting a reservation down. Whether should I go to the dealership or order online? All these problems.

I know I could search thousands of threads with millions of answers, but I'm just looking for the basic Burger King Whopper with Cheese explanation.

What can I reasonably expect if I were to go buy one? And if you're wondering what type: Badlands with Sasquatch variation has my attention.

It will be a longer wait than that. Even when the 23 order bank opens, no ford dealership can submit a new order until the existing reservation holders are resubmitted. (July 2020 res here and just now received my VIN) As far as purchasing, it really depends on your relationship with your dealership. I've been buying new trucks from the same place since 2006 and regularly go in and visit with the sales team and sales manager. We all know each other on a first name basis. For that reason there are no games. That said, even people who are first time buyers do not get mark ups if they order through my local dealership. ADM is hit our miss and I would ask up front if it applies to you, but there is a list of them on the forums. You will most likely have to put a deposit of 100-500 on your order to keep it yours at most dealerships.

So last we heard, order banks reopen 9/12, but that is for previous order holders ONLY. New retail orders TBD at this point, but look for them. As far as getting jerked around by dealers, thats between you and them. Some bad dealers out there, but alot of good ones. Just gotta find one you can trust, and get an agreement in writing on order details and price.

EDIT: And as far as constraints go...they are ever changing, and builds of all flavors have ended up on lengthy holds...so best bet, just order what you really want, and get it when you get it.

My advice is to pick a reputable dealer regardless of the wait time. It is one of the hottest vehicles that was released during the pandemic with supply chain issues. There have been delays. I would rather have a long wait with a solid dealer than a shorter wait with one that blindsides me with an ADM.

I ordered mine in Feb 22 and it was to me on 6/29/22. I didn't have anything considered constraints on my build. So its possible once the order banks open back up to get one. My build is in my signature.

I've had my OBX for 11 months and 15,000 miles. No issues at all. No regrets. I avoided Sasquatch due to concerns over MPG and rough highway ride. The MPG is valid, but the Sasquatch ride seems to fine, from what I hear. I'll evaluate when I attend Bronco Off-Roadeo in October. I Love the high package, the leather/electric seats, the MIC top. I love the 2.7. I'll eventually be upgrading to 33's. The only problem I see is that you have to wait, maybe a year, maybe not. If you can order what you want and drive something else for a "year" you'll be fine. If you check the status of your order 2-times a day, and gripe everyday on 6g about the delays, it'll be a long wait!

Always keep in mind that Horror Stories are the small percentage of people that get burned bad and want to bitch about it - it does not represent the majority. There are lists on here (and that OTHER forum) that list the good and bad dealers for ADM, but generally, in SE Michigan, there are enough around that the bad dealers don't last long. If you order one from scratch, it will take up to 4-12 months (some get them sooner), but if you wait another 3 months before you order, it will still be 4-12 months from then. Also, the '22 order banks are closed, you would be ordering a '23. In a nutshell, come on and jump in, the water's fine.

I have a '21 2.3 BL w 7k miles and my wife has a '21 2.7 BL w 10k miles. Only problem we have had is the vac line on the 2.3 brake booster needs to be replaced. Forums will always magnify problems 1000%

Remember: Just because you thought it was wise not to be an early-adopter, doesn’t mean you won’t have problems with your vehicle once you do finally decide to purchase. These are moving objects in the physical environment—nothing is perfect.

That being said, don’t waste anymore time. When the order banks open, get in there and order. You’ll have a warranty. And if you want, you can extend it. You’re not getting these days back.
