Before making a decision to go with 37s on a SAS equipped Bronco I thought I'd ask around and see what the fuel penalty is for doing so. How many miles did you lose per tank going from 35s to 37s? My guess would be about 15%, or say ~50 miles assuming 17MPG combined on a 21 gallon tank. Sound about right? That would mean I'd need to carry an extra 3 gallons of gas to make up for the bigger meats. I'd appreciate your real life experiences to help my decision. Thanks!

I’m sure you’ll get varying answers but on my Everglades with 35’s I get 17.5 mpg for the last 3 weeks. Having 37’s will get you probably 14-15 I would guess.

I was just talking about this last night with a buddy on Discord.

He averages 15.2 MPG after moving to 37s. On his factory 33s he was averaging 19.7 MPG.

weight of your foot matters on this heavily as well, and if you have an exhaust system youll likely get worse mpg as well. 37s on these broncos should be giving 14-16mpg with standard driving on pavement.

That's very close to the split I saw from 33 to 37 as well. 35s were good for about 18.

When stock my miles to empty was typically high 300s, now it's mid to high 200s.

If you were to choose 37s...what's your plan to get them to fit?

I went down the same road and heavily researched this topic before switching to 37's. I'll get straight to it by saying you can most definitely rock 37's without your MPG taking a plunge.

From my experience, I got about 19.1 MPG with 35's, and 18.7 MPG with 37's. I have a Badlands w/sas 2-door Bronco 2.7 automatic.

I read A LOT of forums and learned so much thanks to this Bronco6g community. There are so many factors that come into play, it's honestly misleading when someone else tells you about their MPG on here, unless you live in their same area, have a similar Bronco to theirs, and drive exactly like they would. I've honestly thought about creating an entire thread that covers all the experimentation and reading I benefitted from regarding tires and MPG for the Bronco.
Until then, if I had to pick one singular factor that will yield the best MPG results for you, it is your driving habits. If you are willing to dial back your speed and RPM's from your current driving habits. Then I believe you will see a narrow gap like I have between your MPG results between 35's and 37's.
With that said, I am by no means an expert, I'm just sharing my real life experience.
